I hope I could not be more wrong, but this strikes me as a classic Liam windup; a piss take, as you were. I don’t suspect so. When he kind of says things straight, in plain sight, with no nonsense, it’s often true (see that “Tuesday” comment recently).

The one thing I dread about a new Oasis album is the hate it's bound to get with certain people no matter how good it is, if it has 2 meh songs and all the rest bangers like DOYS, people will say what a disappointment it is. Or if Noel sings a song on it, they'll hate that. If Liam contributes one tune, they'll hate that. If the track listing isn't in the exact order they think it should be etc etc It's gonna do my head in.

I want proper b-sides. And we need one song that didn’t make the album that we all unanimously agree should have made it. And no LAG songs.

If Noel can produce hooks/melodies and Liam is on point vocally, it’ll be great. Can’t imagine them returning to all this hype with something subpar, but if it’s not better than DBTT or HC (I think DBTT is shit), I don’t want them to release it.

Leaving aside Falling Down and Shock, nothing stands out. There's a handful of other good tunes, but never has an Oasis album felt so joyless, unmelodic and heavy legged as that one.

Yeah but how much is that associating DOYS with a bad era for Oasis overall? Listened to it yesterday, still love the first half. Real shame they sabotaged it… and that’s the correct word: sabotage.

DBTT is better than DOYS imo
I feel if they do an album then Sonically it should sound like the 1st 3..obviously you can't match those songs but I would like the same sound.
Just my 2 cents

Allow my alternate track order fix those issues!!!!! DOYS is a great album as an « ambiance » record
Not much for the songs more for the sound, which is really unique
I Love it but it could have been way better

You got a link for that? I thought the groove concept was Noel’s, don’t recall it being Sardy’s? While trying to look that up I discovered Ralph Steadman (Hunter S Thompson’s artist) was originally supposed to do the artwork for DOYS and came up with the album title - never knew that! Love his art. www.clashmusic.com/features/noel-gallagher/

Rule 1 - Dave Sardy doesn't produce it. The Dave Sardy mix of Morning Glory on the Goal soundtrack is awesome. It’s much better than the original mix in my opinion, so you never know.

Yeah but there he just mixed something he hadn't produced. I don't want sardy to be involved. The songs could have been put together so much better than were recorded with him. For e.g. with nghfb, if I had a gun I love the song live and loved it from the soundchecks but the album version grates my soul. Shame

I still cant decide if i believe Liams claim that theyve finished an album. I guess they couldve made it in isolation, but I just cant help but feel word wouldve got around by now?

Reckon maybe Noel's recorded, at least in demo, an album (rock album the one he shelved the acoustic album for, or maybe some stored bangers from the lat 15 years 🤟🏻). Played it to Liam, he dug what he heard. Maybe hasn't put vocals down yet. But who knows, speculation
