To be fair, if it's gonna be the standard of Dig Out Your Soul, I'd be disappointed. Leaving aside Falling Down and Shock, nothing stands out. There's a handful of other good tunes, but never has an Oasis album felt so joyless, unmelodic and heavy legged as that one. Yeah but how much is that associating DOYS with a bad era for Oasis overall? Listened to it yesterday, still love the first half. Real shame they sabotaged it… and that’s the correct word: sabotage. Wasn't a bad era for me. I loved that time andbhave great memories of it on a personal level. It was the first time Oasis released an album as a hard-core fan, and any issues the brothers had I brushed off as the norm for Oasis. It's just rather tuneless and lumbering for the most part.

Rule 1 - Dave Sardy doesn't produce it. The Dave Sardy mix of Morning Glory on the Goal soundtrack is awesome. It’s much better than the original mix in my opinion, so you never know. Nope not for me. First of all Liams vocals are too low in the mix. Secondly, it's far too clean. Oasis stood apart from all other rock bands because the music was a cacophony of noise. All that crashing reverb and chaos, and Liam singing like he was fighting it and winning. It's raw, reckless and completely unpolished. Owen Morris's production was ideal for them. I don't think Noel fully understood the uniqueness of that sound and subsequent albums sound so tame in comparison. Case in point, listen to his rockers for High Flying Birds, notably the Chasing Yesterday tracks like Lock All The Doors. Regardless of what people think of the actual tune, the recording is bland beyond belief. Another god awful sounding rocker was Freaky Teeth, how he thought that was suitable to release in its snooze inducing form is beyond me. Just imagine how these would have sounded with the Owen Morris treatment.

If Noel really has demoed a whole album as some are speculating here, a la Mustique, and just needs Liam to lay the vocals, let's hope they go with it and don't fuck around too much.
The Mustique demos with Liam's vocals replacing Noel’s are how Be Here Now should have been. I'm sure it's been posted here before.

Imagine another DOYS but all songs are Noel written and sung by Liam. I'd gladly have that.

Yeah but there he just mixed something he hadn't produced. I don't want sardy to be involved. The songs could have been put together so much better than were recorded with him. For e.g. with nghfb, if I had a gun I love the song live and loved it from the soundchecks but the album version grates my soul. Shame Owen Morris’ best work with oasis was on album he didn’t produce.

Oasis just started releasing the back catalogue and rarities; There's a DOYS Somewhere with Record Machine, Come on outside that are finished. Maybe not with Liam vocals, but still an Oasis version. We will get the DOYS that was planned. Maybe in 2028 ?

Its cute, its beautiful, but it does not have the raw side that made MG a perfect album : great melodies with that "in your face" mix.

Reckon maybe Noel's recorded, at least in demo, an album (rock album the one he shelved the acoustic album for, or maybe some stored bangers from the lat 15 years 🤟🏻). Played it to Liam, he dug what he heard. Maybe hasn't put vocals down yet. But who knows, speculation This is where I think we’re at too. Hopefully Liam was being serious about recording in Nov 🤞 What else are they gonna be doing between now and June when rehearsals start!?

i'd like liam + his songwriters to just write 1 song out of the 10 or maybe 12 in the album in the style of noel's just for the kick of it. just to see if they can capture the vibe.
otherwise, all noel written/liam singing please! (should be ez, noel's definitely stashed at least 5 full songs in a cupboard)

It’s too much to get your head round to be honest, Oasis back together and a new album, what, Sounds like Noel has been stockpiling those songs ready for the off !

At the time he was talking about those songs as "kinks" songs.

What if lineup reveal is delayed because whoever is in the new lineup is going to play on the album which will be finished in time for tour. There might be someone in the lineup that if revealed too soon would give away that there'll be a new album then they'd have to explain it before it's time. I dunno just throwing it out there
