At first I thought this will just be gigs for a shit ton of money which is fine. But Noel definitely knows if they release an album next summer it would be a massive seller regardless of quality. Another huge pay day. Even in today’s era of streaming where noel / liam singles don’t chart very high, the fact live forever has done so well in the charts shows that a brand new oasis single would probably make no 1 no problem so I think we’ll at least get a single

They were 5,000 off in 1997 I believe. It could happen in 2025 if everything broke right and no major releases or chart hero’s making waves. Who knows. Exciting if it happens. All wishful thinking.

I think this new album is more progressed than we think and I think it’ll land sooner than we think. I have absolutely nothing to base this on other than the fact these are strange times and the unthinkable has been happening of late - add to that Liam has said several times over the past 24 hrs the album is ‘in the bag’. I know he talks shit but most of what he’s said of late has been true

Noel is preparing the comeback of his life. Of course the album is written, probably already recorded and Liam to add vocals in november.
Noel is divorced, he's got nothing else going on and has lost of a lot credibility in the last few years. He needs that more than Liam now. So he's gonna give it all.
Good thing is we're gonna hear the songs he saved for the last 15 years. Better be a 10/10 record

From LGs Twitter this morning. Someone said they might be jumping the gun a bit but they feel an album is in the air.
Liam : 'It's in the bag mate fuck the air'

Perhaps. I suppose we will have to see what develops. They might not even release a new album, which renders the point moot. All I will add is that I am unaware of a time when 14 million people simultaneously queued for 1.3 million tickets for a heritage act. Then again, I am a little rusty with my heritage act knowledge. oasis are now 30 years old which is pretty much the same as the Beatles were when we got into oasis in the 90s. I dont think as much as anyone loved the Beatles in the 90s they saw them as part of pop culture. The anthology albums brought them to relevance etc but wasnt part of the movement of the 90s of what was going on and oasis wont be a part of that like they was in 97 when BHN came out I am not one to compare the Beatles and Oasis as apples to apples, but since you brought it up, I will simply state that 450,000 copies of Anthology 1 were sold on its first day of release, the most sales for an album in a single day ever. Ultimately, 10 million units were sold. In late 1996, Anthology publicist Geoff Baker wrote, “The Beatles in the last 12 months have sold more albums than they ever did in any one year in the '60s.” The Beatles also outsold every pop group in the world that year. Not too shabby for a heritage act.

I think it widely known that the Beatles were basically bigger in the 90s than the ever were in the 60's and in the mainstream weren't particualry popular in the decades between . I think what blows my mind is that Beatles music is basically prohibitively expensive for film / tv etc nowadays just too expensive. Idk if you live in the uk but to the tv show heartbeat from early 90s is still shown and that has loads of Beatles songs in it and they must've got a perpatuaty license to be able to play it still which mean must've been peanuts to license then then they exploded.

I am not sure I agree with you on the notion that the Beatles were more popular in the 90s versus the 60s; however, I tend to agree with you on your second point. Admittedly, I am not well-versed on the ways in which royalties operate, but is Michael Jackson mostly to blame for skyrocketing the costs associated with using Beatles songs in films and television progammes, given that he owned the rights for quite some time?

So fair to say he defo got a bargain. I would think they have just become more expensive to license as their heritage has grown. (btw Idk what other word to use but heritage is valued things that have been passed down from previous generations and relating to historic or cultural value which is think is a push but meh.. does some up both the Beatles and where oasis are at in their career)

They were trending the right way as DOYS got them back on the BB100 singles as well with TSOTL Really hope they get a US no.1

You guys not talking about Liam confirming an Oasis album? That stadium rock album he wrote after Council Skies must be the one. I'd say it's written and not recorded - that's what the November recording sessions for. He confirmed it a number of times but I can't be arsed finding the rest, there are too many tweets to search through

I'd love it if they've been in France doing an album SOTSOG style but with a more consistent batch of tunes. Some of my favourite recordings of theirs with Spike Stent producing.

I hope I could not be more wrong, but this strikes me as a classic Liam windup; a piss take, as you were. Yeah I thought about that but there are quite a few clues that make it plausible, all the things that Noel's said and done over the year, too many to mention, plus the photos outside of studio. Liam's hinted at it the past couple of months now, I think this is the real deal.
