I love The Morning Son and this demo sounds beautiful. Very grateful that we can listen to it now. Hope we'll get more demos with Liam on vocals

The echo effect is a bit over the top on this. But it was never a good song to begin with anyway.

The echo effect is a bit over the top on this. But it was never a good song to begin with anyway. It may not be the best song in the world but I find it odd that (along with many other songs) it never made it's way onto the short DIG OUT YOUR SOUL album. Tidy it up with a proper studio recording and it would slot in quite well between THE NATURE OF REALITY and SOLDIER ON.

Thanks to everyone who got this demo "out there". Nice to have. Combined with the other DOYS era demos it makes for a nice playlist.

Ample room on the album for both. I'm not a huge fan of TNOR tbh. I don't dislike it like some but it's not for me Iβm not a fan of it either but there appears to be a ton of alternatives songs from Andy which would have sat better on the album. It would be interesting to hear the Oasis version of Way of the World , so hopefully thatβll be kindly shared too. I donβt think Soldier On and Morning Son could have been on the same album together. The pace of both songs are too similar and two songs with the echo effect could be over-bearing.

Brilliant, I prefer the vocals to this one than the Beady Eye version. No need for the echo vocal but definitely suits that raw feel. Could have potentially worked for Dig Out Your Soul as a closer, if it followed Soldier On which I've always liked.
Always felt Solider On could have been expanded and lengthened into some dark psychedelic jam at the end. Has something sinister going on which only hints at what it could have been so the band should have pushed it. It would have been epic for it's an album in desperate need for some life at the end.
In my mind, it could have worked as some kind of nightmarish trip followed by The Morning Son that would have been a perfect respite from the heaviness of that. Adding light to the shade.

I think this was mentioned to be from 2004, so it "belongs" to DBTT. However it sounds more close to the DOYS sound.
Not a huge difference from the Beady Eye version but much better vocals! If only instead of the vocal feedback effect we had Noel on backing vocals.

I remember the title I Stand Alone already circulating back in the end of 2000, when there started to be rumors about the next album.

First off, thank you maxigonzalez23 for this. Second, this should have been released earlier by Oasis and made a single a la Let There Be Love. Third, someone in the YT comments said that the "So let it be and give it time, you go your way and I'll go mine" isn't in the demo and asked if it might be a post-split addon which I find interesting. This is definitely one of Liam's best songs.

Thanks for the upload maxigonzalez23 . Anything unreleased is gold dust and always hugely appreciated! Have you got any additional information about this demo?

Always always always love and appreciate when stuff like this comes out of the fan vaults. It's not much different than what came out for Beady Eye but an interesting listen. I would agree that it is stronger than many songs off DOYS, an era when I strongly believed the best players should be on the pitch.
I think the songs I most which to hear are either "For One So Young" and a Liam "Stop The Clocks". I'd love to hear "Slow" as well but that feels like it's in solo Noel realm now. Maybe for the acoustic LP. A great promo hook when that album comes around. I can see all the reviews now hyping up a "lost Oasis" track from 25 years ago!!!!
I wish Oasis would compile a rarities Anthology. It could be awesome if curated properly.

This is a nice tune and would have made a strong b-side for DOYS' post-album singes.
Including this, my new fantasy Dig Out Your Soul era:
Dig Out Your Soul 1. Bag it Up 2. The Turning 3. Waiting for the Rapture [Acoustic Mix] 4. The Shock of the Lightning 5. I'm Outta Time 6. Come On Outside [Liam] 7. Falling Down [Liam] 8. Record Machine [Liam] 9. To Be Where There's Life [With Guitars] 10. The Boy With the Blues 11. Stop the Clocks [Liam]
Singles: #1: The Shock of the Lightning [High Horse Lady] - Album - #2: I'm Outta Time [The Morning Son / Those Swollen Hand Blues] #3: Falling Down [Soldier On / Falling Down Remix]

Massive thanks for sharing.
It's a well developed demo - lots of effects etc so possibly that suggests it was recorded at Wheeler End? Would love to know which era - DBTT or DOYS?
I hope we get more of this stuff in the future (officially or otherwise)!

In Noel's HFBs launch press conference in 2011 he said The Morning Son had 'been around for the best part of 5 years'. If that is reasonably accurate then it's a DOYS-era demo rather than DBTT.

This just sounds more like a DOYS era demo than a DBTT demo. Not unusual for a song that has been demoed to have some more work was done on it by the writer (especially if it's been overlooked for an album as "not good enough") and a new demo recorded. There could well be a DBTT era demo as well as a completely different DOYS era demo.
