Just listened to the thing. Far more interesting that the Chasing the Sun Edition.
Listened to the Atmos mix also. Can’t wait for the WTSMG Atmos mix.

I'll wait tomorrow to properly enjoy the Monnow Valley version & all the Sawmills outtakes after work.
My vinyl won't come until Tuesday apparently, so the digital version will have to suffice.

So vinyl does sound better than digital? I can’t get into vinyl….to be fair, I haven’t listened to vinyl since 1985 on my parents’ record player. Digital does sound better than CD, at least when converting CD to mp3 in my experience. I bought DM on CD and digital, I don’t even own a CD player to listen to music anymore, just to convert, have as back up and to have a physical copy. I need to at least stop buying CD’s….hmmm. God bless.

Technically, it doesn't sound better. I'm not trying to ignite a pointless analog vs. digital debate, but in 2024, any well-encoded digital file outperforms an old piece of plastic that clicks and pops. But... I love playing vinyl because of the experience. It feels different, warmer, and more authentic - if that makes any sense. There's something about the ritual of holding the sleeve in your hands and placing the record on the turntable that makes it special. Everything feels more real.

An all Analogue AAA vinyl will sound better than any digital file but they are few and far between these days.

The Monnow Valley version of Digsy’s Dinner sounds incredible that might be my favorite track so far alongside Sad Song and Columbia from Samwills

There's a great channel called Parlogram that does primarily deep dives on Beatles vinyls, and is a tremendous educator on the clear differences between a analogue master and a digital master. Most modern vinyls these days use digital masters, and only have slightly lighter compression than CD quality but no EQ differences. Analogue masters on vinyl have special dynamic and EQ differences than a digital master. Some analogue masters were copied onto the early Beatles CDs, like the 1983 Japanese Black Triangle Abbey Road CD, which is a flat transfer of the original 1969 masters. If you're not an audio nerd, the differences aren't entirely notable, but it's fun to read and watch about.

I watch Parlogram a lot mate for his Beatles videos, it’s great a channel if you’re thinking of buying a certain pressing when he does the comparison’s and for the information he puts into it too.

Monnow valley version of Columbia has a real dark, slightly sinister feel about it. How does Columbia have so many vibes to it? Absolutely crazy tune, continuing to show off why its one of my absolute favorites

Really digging the mono Shakermaker. So what's the deal with this version? I always thought the "Slide Up" mix released in 2014 was the Monnow Valley Version? Is this one the original take?
