The artwork this album cycle has been so inconsistent. He couldn’t even be arsed with covers for the proper singles, now he’s throwing pink Minecraft flowers at us.
Really hope this is a taster for the covers release next year.

Noel said that since 1999/2000 he’s had a problem with demoes because they come out just as good as studio takes. Damn Wheeler End and home studio of recent years!!!! |

Now I wish Noel would do a covers albums for Record Store Day. Such a cool idea for a day like that. Whats the point of having a new home studio at age 56 if you aren’t gonna crack out new music more frequently? It would be wonderful if this was the first teaser of the “album” of an EP in April. I highly doubt it but a boy can dream. Especially on Christmas morning right? So far he could include:
Mind Games (Lennon)
Love Will Tear Us Apart (Joy Division)
The Mighty Quinn (Dylan)
All You Need Is Love (Beatles)
Valentine’s Day (Bowie)
Not gonna lie. I was very disappointed Noel sat out last years Record Store Day just one year after announcing he would do an annual contribution of old Oasis or Noel solo material. Weak sauce he didn’t do last year.

Totally forgot he probably did a demo of that in his studio. Add it to the list! He also originally said in August 2020, when he first teased the covers album idea, that he would love to record “There Is A Light That Will Never Go Out”, a Bacharach song and a Shack tune. I don’t want to get my hopes up. This is probably fan fiction right now despite comments 3 years ago. I bet other Noel’s in the multiverse are a lot of prolific with releasing material. |
