I agree. Let's not forget Bowie's Valentine's Day. Come to think of it and looking at this list of songs, it might even be a fitting EP to release on, errm, Valentine's Day. Or not  Great point. Totally forgot he probably did a demo of that in his studio. Add it to the list! He also originally said in August 2020, when he first teased the covers album idea, that he would love to record “There Is A Light That Will Never Go Out”, a Bacharach song and a Shack tune. I don’t want to get my hopes up. This is probably fan fiction right now despite comments 3 years ago. I bet other Noel’s in the multiverse are a lot of prolific with releasing material. I'd bet he would have had a Album with those you named, The Butterfly Collector, Eleanor Rigby, Strawberry Fields Forever. Add two other unheard of and there you go, Noel you filthy lazy vagina 😂 |

Exactly! i purchased the CD version. Hi-Res isn't worth the upcharge if it isn't true hi-res anyway (24-bit/96hz) and even then I don't have a monitor setup to really benefit from the upsample, and Noel's music isn't even dynamic and always heavily compressed so hi-res quality is irrelevant. |

Yeah, this is miles better than his live performance. I never thought it was that bad but the vocals are kind of underwhelming on the live version but the music was always great on both versions. The "demo" (demo... come on Noel) is way better. |

I believe his judgement over the quality of his own work is even worst as time goes by. The best material he has released in the last years have been bonus tracks or Christmas gifts |

So glad to see this released. It’s the perfect closer for my annual compilation.
I loved the live version and was quite disappointed to see it replaced by “The Mighty Quinn”, even though Noel seems quite happy singing it.
(Wasn’t “All You Need is Love” the closing cover during the WBTM tour?)
I hope it makes a return to the set. It suits CS songs well. Maybe by next summer’s gig at Alexandra Palace…but I’m not holding my breath! Just glad to have this recording now.

The negative reaction mostly stems from the live performance and people not bothering to listen to the demo. But negative reaction to the demo is just stupid. People get overly precious about the original, a song that's good but not exactly a masterpiece. It's not Bowie is it, it's not Bridge Over Troubled Water or something. People just overreact especially where Noel's concerned. Granted I thought his live performance of this was shit but the demo is superb and I'm at the point where I prefer it to the original. |

I'm not getting overly precious. I do love it, I do believe that Noel's vocal rendition fits the song and the fact that other people don't like it doesn't change what I think of it. To each their own, that's fine. I'm just surprised at some of the comments because he's done many covers during the years but none of them caused this reaction. Weird. By the way, the cover of Heroes is shit: the original is a masterpiece and Noel's voice doesn't fit  |
