Liam said his favorite song on the album is Mother's Nature Song. He says it's incredibly emotional.
According to Squire, "One Day at Time" sounds like a Western Saloon song.
These two statements are making me even more hype!

I don’t really know what those that criticise these 2 songs wanted/expected? If Lennon and Hendrix formed a super band in 1968 and released “just another rainbow” and “Mars to Liverpool” then the same people moaning would be raving about the songs. No they wouldn't mate, they'd still have the same complaints about a song they don't like. Your ears like what they like and don't like what they don't like, it's simple as that. You think Hendrix and Lennon didn't have people who criticised them? Lennon's Double Fantasy was heavily criticised when it first came out and only got more positive reviews after he died. It's still not universally loved by fans. I don't like JAR but give MTL 10/10, it's a top tune, but nothings gonna make me like JAR, just the way it is. True. Lennon untouchable status began in 1980. Before that, he got a lot of shit thrown at him. Same goes for many artists from the 60s and 70s. Then, the generation passes, memory remains and it becomes a cult. Its happening right now for 90s bands. Same old shit.

I think Mars to Liverpool is great. The chorus does have Iz Rite vibes but I've never understood the hatred for that song. John's guitar lifts it away from running the risk of being dull. I love hearing Liam with real guitar playing again with solos that last longer than a bar or two. I love Iz Rite!

Can't scan through the whole thread....will it be released on CD in the USA or do I need to buy an import?

That is an unbelievably poor start. Rainbow has 420k after 2 days Hi all, very first post on this forum. i reckon something must be up with those stats for MTL. Given the generally positive reaction so far. Really love both songs so far, exceeded my expectations. I love Squire’s songs, he often leaves a wonderful moment within his songs which to me elevates a good song to a great song and for me in MTL it’s at about 2:35, just before the chorus with the glorious high note and the riff that follows. It sounds epic. Don’t mind the two fade outs so far, suggests there’ll be great LIVE. Would love to attend either Kentish Town or Troxy. I’m seeing Pixies at the Forum in March. Which venue is better acoustically, anyone have an opinion. Probably more chance of winning the lottery than getting a ticket though!

Do you know the length of the other 8 songs? They’ve been posted. I think JAR was the longest.

That is an unbelievably poor start. Rainbow has 420k after 2 days There are oddities in terms of promotion. Liam and Squire aren't sharing the song much on their social media unlike what they did with JAR. There are still people who don't know that a second single has been released. Those who managed to listen to it and recover it are enthusiastic about it, but the promotion is weak and that's why the ratings are low compared to JAR. Furthermore, the radios still have JAR programming on the "News" front regarding Liam. MTL came out too soon after JAR and even the radios don't know how to handle it because they are still dealing with JAR.

I don't know why it's like that, but often Spotify actually doesn't show any numbers until the streaming count update on the day after the release. I remember for Rainbow the first numbers showed up on Saturday evening and not on Friday, whereas for Liverpool the numbers where already there since yesterday afternoon/evening. Other songs that have also been released yesterday don't show any numbers there at all yet or also very low count, so I think when the song hasn't been there for a full day yet, the count is kinda off/ the time frame that was counted was very small. I already noticed this in the past with other artists, too. So pretty sure that in a few hours the numbers will be a lot higher for Mars To Liverpool

It's more radio friendly and catchy than JAR.

That is an unbelievably poor start. Rainbow has 420k after 2 days This is definitely just the Spotify count being slow to load. Spotify told me I was one of the first 1000 listeners of Andre 3000’s last album and I thought “Andre, you’ve really committed commercial suicide with this flute album mate”. But a few days later it was over 1m. 🧮

The solo on Mars & Liverpool is a bit meh though, feels like a demo solo to be replaced later only they forgot to replace it.

Not been to Kentish Town but been to Troxy numerous times, aiming to go there again as love the venue, brilliant sound. Art Deco design so pretty cool to look at as well. I actually prefer standing up top in circle to standing on the floor as you get the better view and sound (also I am old, I leave the floor to the young ones). Fingers crossed but my expectations of getting tickets extremely low.

Iz Rite def has a nice indie sound to it. Always loved it! It’s a decent tune. But Liam in a band that isn’t Oasis seemed small. He built a small platform. Liam Gallagher as a solo artist feels like (don’t take this the wrong way) but Robbie leaving Take That.

MTL is okay enough better than JAR but not by much from my POV.
Dunno MTL just feels a bit flat. Doesn't really go anywhere.

I'm just thankful I don't have these unbelievably high standards as some of you and enjoy these tunes for what they are.
I just don't get what some people are expecting from a Liam and Squire collaboration.
Happy we have two new tunes which I'll be playing for years to come. Bring on the album.

I actually expected worse given how bad the two Stone Roses songs were after the reunion cash in. When we all look back retrospectively to Liam's solo career we will all say how the fuck did he manage to do all that from where he was.
