I'm just thankful I don't have these unbelievably high standards as some of you and enjoy these tunes for what they are. I just don't get what some people are expecting from a Liam and Squire collaboration. Happy we have two new tunes which I'll be playing for years to come. Bring on the album. These are the same people living in the past like former highschool quarterbacks that go to the Bar every Saturday and talk about the 2 touchdowns they scored in the finals when they were 18 and bring it up every time they drink 4 beers and and have some nose candy. |

I actually expected worse given how bad the two Stone Roses songs were after the reunion cash in. When we all look back retrospectively to Liam's solo career we will all say how the fuck did he manage to do all that from where he was. This. I would get upset whenever I thought about Liam whenever I listened to oasis or saw his tweets those posts BE/pre solo days thinking this can't be his his career ends he's a fcking icon! |

Fits right in with some of these upbeat pop rock songs like Stay Young, I Got The Fever, Roll With It etc. I also hear a mix between the albums WTSMG and Be Here Now! I'm very curious to hear it live! |

The solo on Mars & Liverpool is a bit meh though, feels like a demo solo to be replaced later only they forgot to replace it. I like it for that reason. It’s loose, feels like you’re listening to someone play it live. Its odd in the Squire solos catalog. All his solos are very precise, smart and go somewhere. I guess you're right, getting used to it being low key. But i always look for perfect recordings, so that tickled my ear a bit |

We got exactly what was expected. At least so far. The album will give the verdict but they seem confident that's it a good one. At 10 tracks, they cant have a filler or a stinker though. So far to me its the best tracks Liam has worked on solo, with his written songs on the first album. It sounds true, it sounds organic, it sounds like humans. |

I was hoping it would be, I'm so curious about that one Apparently it has a campfire feel so they are probably saving it for the summer. It's both their fav song on the album so if they are releasing another single that can only be a good thing and mean they are saving a gem right before the album is released. |

I don’t really know what those that criticise these 2 songs wanted/expected? If Lennon and Hendrix formed a super band in 1968 and released “just another rainbow” and “Mars to Liverpool” then the same people moaning would be raving about the songs. No they wouldn't mate, they'd still have the same complaints about a song they don't like. Your ears like what they like and don't like what they don't like, it's simple as that. You think Hendrix and Lennon didn't have people who criticised them? Lennon's Double Fantasy was heavily criticised when it first came out and only got more positive reviews after he died. It's still not universally loved by fans. I don't like JAR but give MTL 10/10, it's a top tune, but nothings gonna make me like JAR, just the way it is. Well said. Yeah if you don’t like it, you don’t like it. There’s no right or wrong. It was more a dig at those who have said the 2 songs “aren’t anything new.” Which I don’t get coz these songs are what I’d expect from this collaboration; roses anthemic choruses, Liams brilliant vocals, a Beatles psychedelic era songs, the playfulness of the seahorses and a touch of Hendrix solos. |

After multiple listens I'm liking Mars to Liverpool very much. Catchy chorus, great vocals by Liam and very nice guitar work from Squire. It's a good feeling song. It's just rock n roll...
