I don’t really know what those that criticise these 2 songs wanted/expected? If Lennon and Hendrix formed a super band in 1968 and released “just another rainbow” and “Mars to Liverpool” then the same people moaning would be raving about the songs.

Ehhh...no Don't get me wrong...I like 'Mars to Liverpool' but the comparison with Lennon and Hendrix is simply stupid

Lol... I just thought everyone on this forum thought like I did - that Oasis was their number 1 band. Yes, I know all those other bands and I love them, but if they were my favorite I would be on their forum. I get high off these songs. I dont with those other bands.
If you love Oasis you love this last song!
Whats better than singing about blue skys, sunny days and the rain going away!

Ehhh...no Yeah maybe I was a bit harsh with that remark. What I meant is both songs sound how I’d expect them to (in a good way). Both LG and John love the likes of the Beatles, byrds, Hendrix, stones, kinks, stone roses, love, oasis, sex pistols, the who etc etc so it’s pretty obvious the 10 songs will be in the same vein. And that’s not a bad thing.

I'm sure some of them criticize because they would like to see LG fail due to partisanship on other fronts. An Oasis fan can't criticize songs like this. It's not plausible. So either these people are fans of other artists or they are "haters" who enjoy ruining Liam's work and the joy of his fans for pure personal enjoyment. The web is full of these subjects. They multiply like viruses and encourage each other.

Today on this program, you will hear gospel and rhythm and blues and jazz. All those are just labels. 🎸

I think Mars to Liverpool is great. The chorus does have Iz Rite vibes but I've never understood the hatred for that song. John's guitar lifts it away from running the risk of being dull. I love hearing Liam with real guitar playing again with solos that last longer than a bar or two.

I'm really excited for Mother Nature Song. They both spoke so highly of it today on both radio shows.

The Best and only memorable thing Beady Eye ever did is the guitar solo in "Soon Come Tomorrow". Nothing else they did comes close to that 30-40 seconds on the back end of that song. Sons of the stage was so good. Yeah, such a great cover.

In the first two tracks, the use of backing vocals is great. Not many, but when used is perfect and the harmony with Liam is excellent. Works well.

The chorus does have Iz Rite vibes but I've never understood the hatred for that song. . Wrong time, wrong place, wrong people. Had it been an Oasis song, it could probably have been a big single or something. The melody is good.

It’s nice to see a new song by either of them getting (almost) universal praise

Now everybody tags Beady Eye as boring, uninspired, etc. The real thing is that a good chunk of the first album was very well received here, and that the second one was considered better than the first.
But also the first three Liam solo albums were very well received (specially the first two) and now ppl is saying this is the best he has done since Oasis. Wlall of Glass was extremely well received (and deservedly). Of course, it could be, but I think as time passes by some people will change their opinions.
This new song is OK but I don't find so Oasis-y at all. At least not as Noel's songs. Apart from melody, Noel was a genius in structure. Even in simple songs he always managed to introduce twists, to go from each chorus to different parts each time and thinks like that. This one is NOT that kind of song. And I have a strong feeling many people will discover that as time passes by.
And nothing happens because of this. Song is OK and it's great that some people is enjoying this so much.

No they wouldn't mate, they'd still have the same complaints about a song they don't like. Your ears like what they like and don't like what they don't like, it's simple as that. You think Hendrix and Lennon didn't have people who criticised them? Lennon's Double Fantasy was heavily criticised when it first came out and only got more positive reviews after he died. It's still not universally loved by fans. I don't like JAR but give MTL 10/10, it's a top tune, but nothings gonna make me like JAR, just the way it is.
