Its not my favourite thing either but its lovely, just out of curiosity what gallagher related releases did you enjoy during the last years as I konda see your name often pop up with just complaining and moaning about new releases. Albums are always hit and miss but Liam was going in the right direction with One Of Us for example. Once is good, it is just good tune and nobody can deny it. That song also can sound like they were trying to recreate old Oasis ballads but they did something right with it. C'mon You Know album aged really bad but there are some interesting tunes there that doesn't sound dated even for 1994. I liked CY and AYW really much but I was also much younger Noel really has some good tunes on his latest album, also few great songs on Who Built the Moon, We're On Our Way Now and Flying on the Ground are really good singles for 2020s Noel... But nothing ever from Gallagher brothers, not even Beady Eye, didn't sounds this pathetic and outdated. When I listen to those two songs from John and Liam, I imagine that band looks like this I don't know good example in English music but we have so many Serbian/ex-Yugoslavian bands that were popular in 80s and today they are sounding like Liam and John and that music is only listened by housewifes who are listening their shitty radio stations Beady Eye was fresh and progressive compared to this. And I don't even think that song is that bad, I have melody in my head, but my god that production and sound, like they are some old band that never made it and now they decided to make music again and payed some local guy 100 euros to be their producer. New Rolling Stones album is sounding better and fresher than this and Rolling Stones were critised about sound of their last record. And they are fucking over 80.
Jesus wept.

Fucking hell, I've been listening to music released in last two weeks by artists I follow on Deezer and just when I finished, I saw that Liam's new single is out and it is worse song by far from all song that I've listened 🤣 Ok, Kaiser Chiefs are worse. Burning in Flames by KC is a good song, but Mars to Liverpool is in another level hehe

What you been listening to? Are Kaiser Chiefs still making music? I thought they'd stopped years ago. Yeah, they are going to release a new album in the day as Gallagher/Square. Their last albums got at least top 4 on charts.

i still hear too much of greg kurstin in in. more in the first one that in the latter one though. especially in the chorus, when it goes "hanging over me" and equivalent in the next line. i'm pretty sure, kurstin said "oh, why don't we do it like this?".and rather than saying "fuck off, greg!", they did it like this. it sounds too much like these awful liam solo song melodies. It’s jangling, British guitar pop. Such as Squire made in the The Stone Roses. It sounds like John Squire to me. Kurstin learnt to copy all these artists too. So its basically the other way around.

On the oudated debate... the biggest problem is the compression. There's some good sounds (like an organ or something on the second single), but we cant hear them because music nowadays (at least mainstream one) is made for Samsung mobile phone that have crappy speaker.
Remove the compression and you got something. I'll never understand why the Gallagher (noel included) accepted that sound on their record since the early 00s.

Only 5 weeks between announcement and release, cool how soon we will have the album. Wonder when we will get to hear the next song? In 3 weeks maybe?
And I hope we will get some TV/radio/YouTube live performances soon

I was very excited when this collab was announced because I was hoping for some outright filth from the tones, sounds and guitar, but that was probably a futile wish; I’m in the minority that much prefers the second Roses album to the debut because it’s got a darker/heavier vibe.
It’s amazing that LG has returned to form since going solo and is getting to work with one of his idols. Contrary to the critics’ narratives, there’s a nice bit of variety in the solo music he’s released, and as my idol, I LOVE hearing his vocals in the different styles. Again, as a part of the minority, I would selfishly like another WMWN 2.0. The River, One Of Us, Once, WMWN, Alright Now, Gone, and Be Still are some of my fav tunes he’s sung this century.

Gem's a great guitarist. Not sure Squire actually would've fit in with Oasis at all - everything would've just been about guitar solos. Look, I love him in the Roses. He's a fantastic guitarist. But I don't think he's a standout songwriter. You’re doing him a disservice by suggesting that ‘everything would've just been about guitar solos’. That’s not what The Stone Roses were about. Their albums and B-sides had a foundation of brilliant songwriting. I love the Roses and love Squire in the Roses. I don't think anything he's done since has suggested he'd add much as a songwriter. Him and Brown were great together, as a unit.

It's a box-ticking exercise in people who are trying to sound like Oasis just throwing cliches at it. Not Liam. Liam's vocals are great and the chorus is fantastic and he belts it out. But it's just never sat right with me that song. I honestly put it down as one of his weakest, and I was so hyped up for it at the time.. I'd much rather Mars To Liverpool style stuff, which is certainly in my head and catchy, than that.

Listened to it a few times now and definitely think it's better than JAR.
I can also see why JAR was released first, though, as it has a bigger and grander scale to it.
But think MTL is very good.

Interesting...when you search the barcodes of these items in Google, there are a lot of links to CDs and Vinyls with the name 'Twix' with the same release date as this album

Their last albums got at least top 4 on charts. Fair enough. My band used to be with the same management company as them and I thought they'd knocked it on the head. I know the drummer that left years ago wrote all their big tunes years ago and they still carried on without him but I assumed it just fizzled out after a while. I'll give their newer stuff a listen. Curious to hear how they sound considering their primary songwriter from their heyday isn't there.

Well, it is actually all Liam does. It is like that song Abu Dhabi do from that Oasis parody. AYW was fresh and new, after that, everything is becoming so boring. He is always talking about rock and roll, how he wants to make fast punk album, and we always end up with ballads or this mid tempo Beatles wannabe songs. I already said it, it is ok to like this song, some people just hear something in it, some don't. Yes, Once is also one of those songs that sounds like parody of Oasis but it gets some emotions out of me. I guess that is what people feel about this new Liam's and John's songs. I am just tired of that shit again and again. 100% true is that is all that Liam does - he is just giving us ballads that are trying to sound like Oasis ballads and this kind of Beatles wannabe mid tempo songs. All those songs are kind of ok, some people like all of them but there are not much of those people. All those songs are like 5-7/10 songs and most of us like some songs and don't like others. I think that Once is good for example. You don't think that. But you like some other Liam's song that I don't. But the truth is that we are constantly getting mor average music. And you just can't get away with it forever. Well, at least if you ask me and this is what forum is about, to say what you think and feel. I can't describe how bored I am while I am listening these new songs, I can't wait for them to finnish.

It would be great if they released a live version of both singles. They might sound incredible live, and maybe make the final guitar solos longer. I hope they recorded a live session in some studio!

oasisserbia If you’re so bored of his tunes then fair enough. Don’t listen and don’t bore us to death by constantly whinging how bored of them you are
I don’t listen to Noel much anymore so I don’t bother posting in the motel section anymore and I don’t bother buying tickets for his gigs anymore.
Liams new tunes won’t be for everyone but constantly moaning about them Is boring as hell. Its like you want attention or something
