Man, It is true that the song sounds like a Gem penned Beady Eye number with a touch of The Good Rebel. Expecting a lot more after hearing the good comments here. The album is shaping up to be Heathen Chemistry without the big hits. Well, HC is a great album. Hahaha HC is the worst album in the Gallagher arsenal. Little by little is the worst song. Oasis gone country and not in a good way. Songbird and very few save it. Production didn’t help for sure. But you can’t compare this to that album.

To be nicer I’ll just say HC was stale as can be, and besides the lyrics, this song sounds funner than anything off COYK which can only be a good sign for the rest of the album. Lyrics are still iffy but that’s what makes oasis

The two tracks sounds played back to back like Oasis 2002 with muscles, which isn't a bad thing.
It'll interesting to hear the rest and what will be on it: ballads one or two i suppose, one big track with a very long solo to close the record, something a bit weird in the middle.

Enjoying both singles. And their Poppiness gives the album artwork some context.
But Alexa hates albums without easily recognisable titles.
First world problems I know.

Further listens...MTL reminds me of the beach boys sung by Liam. Hoping rest of album a bit heavier. Nice vocals but I guess not a solo liam album so will vere away from.that output.
Both songs are nice but can 100% see why JAR came out first to engage the casual retro Roses 90s Oasis listener

i still hear too much of greg kurstin in in. more in the first one that in the latter one though. especially in the chorus, when it goes "hanging over me" and equivalent in the next line. i'm pretty sure, kurstin said "oh, why don't we do it like this?".and rather than saying "fuck off, greg!", they did it like this. it sounds too much like these awful liam solo song melodies.

As others said, it's very poppy, sounds more like a Liam solo single produced by Kurstin and with Squire as special guest than as a Squire song. But it's like one of the good Liam solo singles, so no complains on my side Maybe in the album we will have a few songs that combine the strengths of both singles so far: good songs with a heavier, more psychodelic sound

Squire has written pop song in the past. On the seahorses albums there are some, and second coming have some as well but hidden behind a wall of guitars. Maybe Kurstin helped a little but the guy is never shy to ask for songwriting credits, so why isnt he credited ? + writers can evolve, who though Noel would write a crap tune like pretty boy.
The chords sequence is very 90s too.

It’s exciting as hell that in a month we’ll have 8 new songs to listen to
Love all the hype and excitement of hearing a new Liam song for the first time ever. In the last I admit I get genuinely excited the second I hear a new tune or when an album leaks
Ordered the album on iTunes and also a physical cd so I can hopefully get tickets to see him in Manchester.
This is all a huge bonus as I thought it would just be his DM tour and now new music and a mini tour. Love it
I think back to seeing Liam and Beady Eye in Manchester in front of about 200 people and now see how huge he is. Love it

I wish those guitar solos in the outro of JAR and MTL would never end. I hope that live they extend the songs with long solos like Oasis did between 98 and 2000.

Fucking hell, I've been listening to music released in last two weeks by artists I follow on Deezer and just when I finished, I saw that Liam's new single is out and it is worse song by far from all song that I've listened 🤣 Ok, Kaiser Chiefs are worse. What you been listening to? Are Kaiser Chiefs still making music? I thought they'd stopped years ago. It is really heard to call it music.

It’s jangling, British guitar pop. Such as Squire made in the The Stone Roses. It sounds like John Squire to me.

Its not my favourite thing either but its lovely, just out of curiosity what gallagher related releases did you enjoy during the last years as I konda see your name often pop up with just complaining and moaning about new releases. Albums are always hit and miss but Liam was going in the right direction with One Of Us for example. Once is good, it is just good tune and nobody can deny it. That song also can sound like they were trying to recreate old Oasis ballads but they did something right with it. C'mon You Know album aged really bad but there are some interesting tunes there that doesn't sound dated even for 1994.
I liked CY and AYW really much but I was also much younger
Noel really has some good tunes on his latest album, also few great songs on Who Built the Moon, We're On Our Way Now and Flying on the Ground are really good singles for 2020s Noel...
But nothing ever from Gallagher brothers, not even Beady Eye, didn't sounds this pathetic and outdated.
When I listen to those two songs from John and Liam, I imagine that band looks like this
I don't know good example in English music but we have so many Serbian/ex-Yugoslavian bands that were popular in 80s and today they are sounding like Liam and John and that music is only listened by housewifes who are listening their shitty radio stations
Beady Eye was fresh and progressive compared to this.
And I don't even think that song is that bad, I have melody in my head, but my god that production and sound, like they are some old band that never made it and now they decided to make music again and payed some local guy 100 euros to be their producer.
New Rolling Stones album is sounding better and fresher than this and Rolling Stones were critised about sound of their last record. And they are fucking over 80.
