So what are we thinking? Another single in mid February to launch the album announcement cycle? Then a final single in April before an early May release. I did think it might come sooner than that. Liam has a reasonably busy summer coming up. I don’t see how he would fit the gigs with Squire around it. Hoping for an early spring release. I would expect another song in February and then the album in April. The LA gigs and maybe a Manchester and London date around release time and then Liam moves onto the Definitely Maybe 30th Anniversary tour. Also, there are some quotes from the Apple Music interview on Stop Crying Your Heart Out where Squire says the album is already printed when commenting on the title. x.com/scyhodotcom/status/1743603803025277058?s=46&t=0u3U4DzbcFZoVPkqiDL0bg

I think if you aren't feeling a song it's best just say it that way.
Saying it's "fuckin shit" is pretty low level gradeschool stuff. There is some anger behind it like Liam or John did something to them lol.
Do I absolutely love the song? No but I think it's cool and I haven't heard a guitar solo run for that long in ages which is different these days. You really don't see it anymore.
It's a nice homage track to kick things off..
Pretty much everything has been done in rock. No band on this planet is breaking a mold that hasn't been done before.

Figured the album would have been announced on Friday to get the pre-orders going. Not a lot of runway left for April release. It’s usually 6-8 weeks after an album is announced these days. Maybe they are trying to eyeball the right April/May week to land Liam another #1. Gotta respect and protect that streak now.

That Noel vs Liam debate is even funnier now that we know that Squire wrote absolutely everything 😅 Dude, you are really bad at trolling. It’s transparent and not even funny. Everyone who gave you bit of attention here, did it out of pity, like me now. Just give it up🙈 Again, you didn't understand my post. There was that debate Liam vs Noel where Diamond in the Dark was saying that Noel was writing shit lyrics like in Supersonic. It became Noel vs Liam debate about lyrics and all I am saying that it was funny because Liam didn't write this song, John wrote it, so that debate is even more meaningless because people were actually debating Noel vs Squire 🤣 That's all. Even if the lyrics of Just Another Rainbow are bad, it has nothing to do with Liam and it is not Liam's fault and that Liam vs Noel thing is completely meaningless 🤣 It is like accusing Liam because Supersonic had some shit lyrics, he was just singer.

Hard to gauge. Comments on IG, twitter and here are majority negative comments on FB, YouTube, and from what I've seen on TikTok majority positive so bit of a mix overall, which is probably to be expected. Those criticizing are made up of Oasis haters + Noel Gallagher fans who hate Liam. As long as Squire fans and Liam fans unite with some rock fans and appreciate what they propose, it will be fine in the end. Preposterous statement. Liam is my idol, but to act as if everything he touches is great, is pure delusion.

This is sacrilegious here I know, but I’ve never really listened to the Stone Roses or Squire-written stuff: So will the whole album likely be these kinds of guitar jams, or can we expect a lot of variety? I love a good Liam ballad, for instance.

My copy is on the way, so it will arrive at my door on Monday. I haven’t listened to the song yet, not even a preview.
For the record, I love Oasis, I love both Gallaghers but I do not love everything they do, music they create. I’m not obsessed with them.

Liam is my idol, but to act as if everything he touches is great, is pure delusion. This is what happens with Noel. With him we always shout about a masterpiece. With Liam, criticism is always the order of the day because it's fashionable. Look now what's happening. For the first time a Gallagher tries to make a rock album since 1994 and some heavily criticize the song and expect that everyone else has to criticize it. Whether it's a flop will be clear from the charts and sales results. But regardless of the rankings, I really like it and no Haters will change my mind about it. For the record I'm a fan of Liam but I don't love everything he does. C'mon You Know (album) for example, for me it's half good. The other half is rubbish.

I love Liam and I love Noel, and I love a lot of their output since going solo. But I don't care for this tune, and I don't care for Noel's new stuff either. Some people get tired of the same old stuff happening, and neither brothers are pulling up any trees at the moment sadly. Unfortunately, there's too much looking backwards and relying on old tropes for both of them recently but with extremely diminishing returns. Any dismissal of new songs does not equate, in your view, to 'hating' him (or Noel). Some people just have an urge for something different that's all.

When I say it's shit I speak only for myself. You can still like it and enjoy it, jeez. One thing I'll never get about this forum is the worshipping of John Squire and Richard Ashcroft. This forum is highly critical of Richard...what are you on about?

It's a brilliant trip song. This is more of a Squire Jam song more than a Liam song if you catch my drift. Lyrics are nonsense but I don't think this song is supposed to have a deep dive into the lyrics anyway.
I like it, I gave it an 8/10 on the poll post. Will be interesting to hear more collabs in the future,

This has grown on me a bit now, bar the colours of the rainbow part.
It's #30 on the UK Top 50 on Spotify so with downloads and vinyl sales this should chart quite highly.

The whole project is very clear a fan Service. Fan Liam gives his hero John a voice for his Songs. I think it's exactly the music all Roses and Squire Fans want to hear, maybe Not exactly what the Gallagher Fans like, but I like it! It's just Rock'n'Roll and not Radiohead Interpretation of a Oscar Wilde poem.

I see that Mike Spike Stent has mixed the song so I guess he's mixed the new album too. Saw him just before Christmas in the pub near where I grew up. Should have asked him. He had Liam in there before the BE release in 2013 but I was at Uni * although it's Mark, not Mike I got my vinyl yesterday and that's why I mentioned it.

Those criticizing are made up of Oasis haters + Noel Gallagher fans who hate Liam. As long as Squire fans and Liam fans unite with some rock fans and appreciate what they propose, it will be fine in the end. This is insane logic. I've bought and loved ALL of Liam's solo albums, I'm a fan of Beady Eye and I've seen him 6 times live (soon to be 7) and yet I know that this isn't the best thing he's ever put out, far from it. I haven't got a hidden agenda and neither does anyone else, it's just personal taste and we're allowed to have them without being part of some kind of 'conspiracy' against Liam. I do love Noel's music too, as do MANY others on this forum but to automatically label all of them as 'Noel fans who hate Liam' is a massive reach. For the record I think the guitars are great and the vocals are great, it's just that the melody and the lyrics let the song down Yeah, I totally agree with you and you don't have to like everything Noel and Liam put out.

I’ll listen to any criticisms aimed at the first 3 minutes.
From 3 minutes onwards it’s just sublime.

I think that seeing the album as a bonus for Oasis and Stone Roses fans rather than a mainline Gallagher record helps relieve the tension that can be seen here.
As far as I'm concerned, I do enjoy Just Another Rainbow, but I don't review it as a cornerstone of rock & roll, just two of my favourite musicians doing a nice unexpected collab album. It's not gonna be the main event of Liam's near future, especially not with DM30 coming up
