But these some people who criticize the song or the fact that Liam lists the colors of the rainbow, are the same ones who praised Noel's solo debut when he presented as his first single the sensational plagiarism of "Je so Pazzo" by Pino Daniele, with embarrassing lyrics like "I'm watching my TV, Or is it watching me?" ? I bet these same people also commented with the word "Masterpiece", the tons of meaningless whining that Noel has been trying to sell to people for 10 years... That line is great and describes being paranoid really well. Anyway I'm not really a lyrics man, if you want poetry, read a poem. I really like the guitar work by Squire, the body of the song I'm not that keen on but it is listenable. The melody is lacking a bit, I suspect it's harder for people like Squire to keep creating melodies and is what makes Noel stand out.

the sensational plagiarism of "Je so Pazzo" by Pino Daniele Now I don't mean this to come across as condescending but do you honestly think Noel would've heard this? I'd be willing to bet my house on him not knowing it even exists, so to call it 'sensational plagiarism' is a MASSIVE stretch. The fact is that there's a finite number of chords, a finite number of time signatures and a finite number of rhythms. Songs WILL end up sounding alike without any conscious attempt to rip them off, it's just a fact

In the same way, indicating the colors of the rainbow makes you understand the dreamy personality of those who list them. Who has never tried to describe what colors they can distinguish from a rainbow? My family and I do this often. In my opinion the main problem is that some people who are fans of Gallagher are used to "Pop" sounds. As soon as Liam tends to veer towards a more Rock sound by mixing things up a bit, the "classic" fan tends to get disoriented and have difficulty appreciating the change.

And in the 90s he confessed to listening to foreign and less well-known music worldwide in order to be able to "steal" safely without being easily caught. The similarities between the two songs are very evident. The structure is really similar to be just a coincidence.

Noel is smart. And in the 90s he confessed to listening to foreign and less well-known music worldwide in order to be able to "steal" safely without being easily caught. The similarities between the two songs are very evident. The structure is really similar to be just a coincidence. Is there a record of him saying that somewhere? Genuinely curious If you are a fan of Gallagher and are passionate about reading their interviews over 30 years as well, then you should know certain statements. But in here sometimes it feels like we're in court. I would have to leave my private life to find newspaper clippings thrown away somewhere to be able to witness things that a fan should have already known on their own.

1) Yes Noel’s heard that song. It’s a famous song and that’s what he does and he does it very well. (note - though I am on your side that no point being a negative nilly saying it’s plagiarism, if so, you can’t really enjoy new music can you).
2) The new song by Liam and Squire is insane - the Liam snark ‘Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii’ plus the I am the Resurrection reminiscing outro is all this 42 year old can ask for.
This is the most 90s song I’ve heard in a long time. Love life and enjoy the ride fellas!

Any court or any plagiarism specialist would reject a claim in seconds.
There are a key points like melody, chords and production to make it plagiarism. It’s clearly not the case here it’s an Italian song in an Italian style. It’s a STYLE of music. 🎵
Inspiration is not plagiarism, there’s a line, and every songwriter knows that.
It also sounds like many other things, that’s music.
Same style, yes, same song. Hell no. Plus Noel’s tune is way way better than the so called plagiarism once again.

And this is really not about Noel anyway.
They both had good and bad songs.

The fact that Noel's song is better than Pino Daniele's song can be attributed to the fact that you are a Noel fan. Pino Daniele is highly appreciated in Italy and has also been awarded prestige by international musicians with whom he has also duetted in some concerts. So belittling it is a subjective method. Unfortunately, Oasis fans always tend to defend Noel even when it's really inappropriate to have to do so. Of the two, Liam has always been the one who is judged more severely, while Noel tends to be forgiven for everything or even praised for things that aren't really worth much. Unfortunately this is the law that Oasis fans have created, and even if it is not fair at all it is how it still works today. When evaluations occur as in this case on things that concern Liam, the unbalanced management in the evaluation method emerges clearly and probably in the eyes of a true critic with intellectual honesty, the imbalance used by fans of the brothers in judging the works between Liam and Noel would be nauseating and unacceptable.

That Pino Daniele "plagiarism" thing is utter bullshit. There have been many situations where Noel has blatantly copied songs & riff, but not in this case. Now stop derailing the thread with your Noel obsession. Supersonic has some crazy shit lyrics when taken out of context but it's a superb song. The colours bit in this one though... it's cringy. I still enjoy the song but when that bit comes in...

If you were honest on an intellectual level you would have also criticized Supersonic for having within it a mix of meaningless lyrics mixed in a guitar solo taken from George Harrison's My Sweet Lord. But obviously that can't be done, because going against Noel Gallagher is a crime for some of you. This behavior makes Oasis fans some of the most atrocious a band could have. Only Heavy Metal fans have a very similar behavior towards others.

That part ''red and orange, yellow and green, blue'' - it can pass, barely but it can pass.
But when after that he sings ''indigoooo, viiiioooolet'' that shit is just too much. Cringe.

What has Noel to do with this thread? Who cares? I'm not interested in keeping this conversation going. Time wasted.

And it is not about Noel vs Liam.
Supersonic is not great just because Noel wrote it, there are so many other factors that made Supersonic great and Noel's songwriting is just one of them.
Liam or Noel today, doesn't have anymore that energy, vibe, swagger... and Noel is not creating melodies as good as those in the 90s and Liam is not as good singer as in the 90s. They can't just get away with stuff like that anymore.
It's like everything else in life. Some things work only when you are young, you can't get away with it 30 years later, you have to put an extra work.

They don't have to always be compared to each other ffs.

Am I the only one who has realized that this is almost definitely a song Squire dusted off from the Stone Roses reunion that never fully happened in 2016? It just sounds like it came from the same session of One For All and Beautiful Thing, but the rest of the song a will never see the light of day so he cut Ian Brown’s vocal take and pasted Liam’s in. (who does Ian Brown better than Ian Brown).
