There might not be that massive catchy hook everyone is after but there's enough interesting little details in the song to keep me very interested, on first listen I didn't have a clue where it was going next which is exciting. I don't mind the naming of the rainbow at all, think the song needs it to break it up a little. Squires guitar is absolutely ridiculous and I still stand by that this is the best vocal Liam has done since going solo. This is what Liam Gallagher should sound like.
Excited for what is to come, cracking start.

I'm mixing it with Definitely Maybe and the sound doesn't look bad at all. For now I listened to it after "Cloudburst". I'm having fun now

But that was more in the "surely it HAS to go somewhere else because this is very predictable so far" kind of way - but it never does. Obviously we get Squire's overblown solo in the end, which brings a change but that was inevitable because that's par for the course with basically everything he's done since 1994. It sounds like a rough idea that never got developed.

But yeah, that bit where he lists the colours is, frankly, horrendous.

There's a bit just before the solo that reminds me of the beginning of Roll With It. I can't unhear it. Every time I listen to the song and it gets to that part I'm expecting Liam to belt out 'you gotta roll with it you gotta take your time' It's trippy...

I understand it's not for everyone, but I really like this kind of music. Liam's voice sounds amazing.

It's decent. I like the long outro and the instrumental work, nothing groundbreaking but it's very well executed and with some great guitar licks. It does sound like a Liam guest appearence rather than a collaborative effort though, and I hope that changes with the rest of the album

Got other stuff to be working on than improve songs by washed up songwriters

My guess is that its only a teaser showcasing both parties, Liam singing and a huge Squire solo.
Surely there are better tracks to come.

After a few more listens I like it but it's very Stone Roses and I don't think that it's Liam's best solo song or his best vocal since going solo.

Now I would immediately like a live version of the song, and an acoustic version. They will certainly be splendid.

I really like it. I agree with others who have said that Liam and John's performances are the best part of the song, Liam sounds like he did on DOYS crossed with the better performances on COYK, it's pretty close to his performance on Nature Of Reality, this is how he should sound on records. I could also listen to John Squires guitar part for a few minutes longer than it went on for without getting bored. In terms of the lead melody it's not the strongest but you can't have everything.
I'd give it a solid 7/10

Kind of OK. That said, this kind of song was dated in 1997.

But these some people who criticize the song or the fact that Liam lists the colors of the rainbow, are the same ones who praised Noel's solo debut when he presented as his first single the sensational plagiarism of "Je so Pazzo" by Pino Daniele, with embarrassing lyrics like "I'm watching my TV, Or is it watching me?" ? I bet these same people also commented with the word "Masterpiece", the tons of meaningless whining that Noel has been trying to sell to people for 10 years...

"I'm watching my TV, Or is it watching me?" has got to be one of the best lyrics Noel has ever written. It's simple, clever and to the point. And about that weird plagiarism, i mean, come on... People who hear plagiarism in there dont know shit about music. You dont copyright a rhythm, or a style of music, its completely dumb. How about copyrighting a chord, or a guitar, or a string while you're a it. I'm off to register the E string.

Noel cops plenty of criticism for his lyrics and his plodding this and that, recycled strumming patterns etc. Was universally ridiculed for his live Joy Division cover and still plenty don't like the demo.
