Neat questions! It would be neat to make a new thread for them, so everyone can see them. Would you like to do that or be okay with me doing it?
(I thought of my favorite lyric and then saw that you had picked the exact same line. Hah!)

Not gonna lie - I f’king hated the album when it dropped, thought it was awful and was going to be the end of LG’s monumental rise. But 2 weeks in and playing nonstop when I get the chance I have to eat humble pie and say it’s a real grower and now my favourite Gallagher album for a long time. For me there are 6-7 really good catchy songs. I’m so bored has gone from a joke of a song to a Who inspired punk rocker for me, absolutely love it 👏🏾

I really liked it on first listen but on every listen there's a new little guitar nugget that grabs my attention. I enjoy it as much as a Cream album; which is not my favourite band by a mile, but still a great listen nonetheless. I didn't expect a 2024 release from mainstream pop-rock artists to be so interesting to my ears. The new Yard Act is better although I don't listen to it that much

I'm still not too sure about One Day At A Time and Make It Up As You Go Along, but the rest I really like My favourites are: Raise Your Hands I'm A Wheel Just Another Rainbow You're Not The Only One I'm So Bored

The more i listen to this album the more i love it, big squire fan so it was a no brainer. Outside the singles I'm a wheel, You're not the only one and Mother Natures song are the ones for me. Knew it had proper seeped in the other week when i was cycling home singing Mother natures song. Can't wait for spring to show up and blast this in the garden on a nice sunny day, think they will go together perfectly. As a side note agree with all or nothing, new Yard act album is excellent, better than their first record.

OK, OK. I put the album down after listening to it once. After seeing them perform Mars To Liverpool on Ross I was impressed. Went back and gave it another listen and I'm digging it now. Solid 6 tracks overall.

The intro and verses on Love You Forever are one of the best things he's done since going solo.

Squire does not write obvious melodies, they are simple but require to dig into them. Although this is probably the poppiest record he's ever written. Second Coming is dark compared to this. but then again the 90s were a different era. People didn't need things to be so "immediate" and could appreciate more complex work. Not the case anymore, mostly. (see Arctic Monkeys last two records that people didnt seem to understand) Pretty cool a new generation is discovering and listening to those records. Not all is lost hehe

I've always been amazed on how many people in this forum need multiple listens of a record before saying "oh yes now I understand, now I like it".

Still loving the album. A quick poll for those who are fans of the album: From the album, name your favourite: Intro: Outro: Chorus: Lyric: Guitar solo: Melody: Riff: Other piece of musicianship: I'm going with: Intro: I'm a Wheel Outro: Love You Forever Chorus: Raise Your Hands Lyric: "Til the last clock stops and the skyscrapers fall. Why give a little when you can give it all". Guitar solo: You're Not The Only One Melody: One Day at a Time (chorus) Riff: Love You Forever intro Other piece of musicianship: piano on You're Not The Only One Aything else you care to call out... Love that you did this. I’m also very happy with this music. I’ve probably listened 25x already. To add to this Raise your hands - probably favorite outro at 3:30 (took me longest song to get into tbh) Mars to Liverpool - 2nd favorite chorus One Day at a time - favorite moment on album - 2:30-2:53 so let’s say solo I’m a wheel - my first love favorite chorus, 2:30-300 pure bliss. Interesting you liked start / to me the song is just a build up. Surprised this wasn’t the single Just another rainbow - favorite mid section Love you forever - favorite vibe (took me 6 or 7 listens to get into) make it up as you go along - it’s a pause for me - a la she’s electric - i like how it makes the album less serious. maybe favorite line : I got a Kandy Kolored Tangerine Flake Streamline Baby Sassy grassy green and Jamaica blue Drive me crazy You’re not the only one - where’s the guinness?!?? probably the best verses and vocal intro - and the brodge ‘you’re not the only one who feels like this’ it’s like the chorus is the guitar riff after I’m so bored - it’s great in the sense it feels like a live version of the whole revolver album. also, love the less serious mantra again. Mother natures song - my kids love it. i actually like maxis version better but still a great tune. probably most serious song - most appeasing for the music rock snots who have never gotten over that rock is dead

I'm genuinely interested in how some people can pick up on something quickly and others need multiple listens. There is no right or wrong.

I'm genuinely interested in how some people can pick up on something quickly and others need multiple listens. There is no right or wrong. Exactly. There is no right or wrong. Music taste and preference are, just like many other things such as books, clothes and even foods, very personal things. What one loves doesn’t mean someone else loves it too. Imagine if all the people on the earth would only love what Gallaghers create, it would be dead boring, at least to me.

I guess that the album sadly won't hold on to the number one spot this week. Mind you, I don't know what was released last Friday.

It not only varies with people, my experience with different bands, albums and songs is different. There have been a few bands that I've loved from the start and still do, others I've dismissed at first and fallen in love years later, others I love from the start and then get bored... it's one of the best things about music, it's always different, always evolving.
