I thought Liam and John dealt with the J Ross Show just fine. Johns always been like that and always considers the answers he gives first but basically he’s too intelligent for shows like this and the Dave Berry show etc where he’s being asked things like “have you got a dog?”, “have you got a cat?”, “have you got a brother?”, they’re the sort of questions you ask someone that can’t do joined up writing yet and can’t colour in without going over the fucking lines. ¡That’s a great question! God bless.

I hope that we'll get a live album and DVD from this tour at some point as that would be great.

That riff is epic at the start of the Glasgow gig! (before just another rainbow) That’s 100% squire and that’s an early snippet of a future LG/squire song😎 Maybe it’s one of the songs John said weren’t ready for this LP?
This LP has polarised people but I really don’t care; I’m gonna say it, this album is in my top 10 albums of all time and it’s there to stay. And I don’t say that lightly. I friggin love it! Constantly been playing for 2 weeks now. Half of the album is full of absolute bangers and hardly any album can boast that. There’s not a weak song on there. Even the songs I rank 7,8,9,10th are still mega; one day at a time I can’t get out my head and that middle chorus is one of the best bits of the album and I absolutely LOVE the way Liam songs “time” right at the very end of the song. He sounds beautiful! Make it up as you go along is surprisingly one of the best singalong songs n the car of the whole LP, the opening riff to “I’m so bored” is one of the best riffs on the LP and I absolutely love the “gotta get ooooouuuutttt!” bit in the fade out and “raise your hands” puts me in a great mood. And that’s the bottom 4😳
The stone roses are the greatest band ever IMO and I friggin love Oasis since the very start so I know I sound like a fanboy but if anything, that’s more reason for my expectations to be too high but a fortnight on, this collaboration is the best thing I’ve had in music since arctic monkeys/kasabian burst on the scene

This album is becoming my favorite of the post-Oasis period for several reasons:
1) It is the most different from the others, it surrounds Liam with unusual nuances and is also the most raw and rock.
2) I never get tired of it. It's the only album I can listen to even 10 times a day without making me feel nauseous. The more I listen to it, the better it gets.
3) It has an essential instrumental construction but of higher quality than what we have always listened to.
4) The fact that there is only one guitar elevates Liam's voice very well both live and in the studio. I find that the songs are more compatible with his voice and even live they allow Liam to express himself in a natural way without excessively wearing out his his vocal cords.
5) Despite not having the Pop mold of any Liam and Noel solo album, it is the one that sounds most consistent with what Liam Gallagher is.
PS: It's not a "stadium" album like his solo albums are, but more suitable for smaller venues and this is not a flaw at all.

They should have done 2 covers live. One mid show and one at the end imo.

They should have done 2 covers live. One mid show and one at the end imo. Love Me and Leave Me was obvious. Could be huge. They even should do a studio version of the song. I mean, here is the AI version, its huge.

There are one or two out there to choose from I guess.

I’ve cast my mind back to the first of March and apart from one day when we went for a drive somewhere and I had did a big playlist, I’ve realised the only songs I’ve intentionally listened to in the last 17 days are the 10 songs on this LP. This is without doubt the longest I’ve gone without hearing a stone roses or oasis song.
All other LP’s I’ve bought in the last few decades usually consists of me playing it to death for a few days then inevitably adding any songs I love from the new LP to an existing playlist of my favourite songs. This is the only LP for decades I’ve constantly played weeks after buying. The DMA’s debut I played loads for ages but I’d still keep listening the roses and oasis in between
Such a great album and the one I’ve been banging out the most the last few days is “just another rainbow”. Arguably my favourite off the LP. I went through a few days early on not playing the 2 singles and just listening to the other 8 but I’ve gone back to it and it’s sounding better than ever! Joey is phenomenal on the drums. It’s the one song on the LP where he sounds exactly like Reni. The waterfallesque base line, the resurrection style jam (not as epic (that’s impossible) but better than the immense love is the law jam). Watching the live performances back, I even now think the colours bit works

It's weird. I used to have very rigid ways of thinking about this. And then I got into Van Halen. And this whole concept threw me for a loop. I used to criticize the Guns N Roses album G'n'R Lies (which is just over 33 minutes) as not being an album. But Van Halen's 1984 is 33 minutes too, and that album went diamond in the US (Diamond Dave lol). And then Foghat's Fool for the City is 7 tracks and 36 minutes. I don't know where I'm going with this, only to say that the less I think about what is an album v. what isn't based on length or tracks, the happier I ended up haha. 10 Tracks and 40 minutes was acceptable in 1969 (the true year of the music on this album). So I dig it. Its a valid point. I dont know much van halen but his songs are less structured verse/chorus/vers right ? Its not about length, its more about balance. Thinking an album should be 10 track minimum is because artists build songs (in the "traditionnal" rock n roll) in a way that it makes it perfect to have ten tracks. They are usually 3 to 4 minutes long. Its the perfect balance. Because there's a subconcious way of creating a bulk of songs together rather than just a collection, when recording an album. For instance i mentionned Band on the Run, and I always listen to it with Helen Wheels and Country Dreamers added. To me it's perfect at 11. Its not really a rigid way of thinking, its more like that it feels like the artist was short on good songs (in the modern era, in the 60s and 70s, its different, since there was more 8 or 7 track records). the most recent example is WBTM. Everyone on here thought it lacked one track. Even Noel since he's throw in at the last minute another track that made absolutely no sense. Sometimes those things cant be explained, but for "traditionnal" rock (again, just this, not things more experimental), 10 is the minimum for a perfect balance. Apologies for the late reply. I see what you mean now regarding 10 tracks leading to a perfect balance. Van Halen does have a lot of songs in the verse/chorus/verse format, but some people (such as Jerry Garcia) do not like Eddie Van Halen's use of playing a bunch of clustered notes as riffs that make up the main riff of the song. It's a completely different thing than the chord-like structure of the Stones or Oasis, and it's like Led Zeppelin riffs on steroids. A few weeks in, and I am digging this 40 minute 10 track 4 and a half stars out of 5 album.
