While I'm not a Sardy fan, the production on If I Had A Gun is just fine. It's not awful like everyone says.

Sardy was never the root cause of the bad production… Noel was.

Noel's best album has always been his second, CY. From the first only a few songs were saved, the rest were perceived as mediocre Oasis rejects. From the third album to some songs on the EPs he released material of the same quality as Beady Eye's music. Many other songs, however, are even worse than Beady Eye.

Holy Mountain is one of Noel’s best songs.

A Simple Game of Genius although good is a bit forgettable and I'm glad is not on the album.
About 70% of Noel's songs would be better with Liam on vocals. Not saying that Noel is a bad singer, and I love most of his albums, but I still feel they could sound better with Liam.

People say Who Built The Moon is well produced but it sounds like the recording mics were in a different room to the band on Holy Mountain.

Chasing Yesterday is dull and his worst album. Song Remains and Riverman are the only two saving graces. Production is awful on the first album but the other main issue is the songwriting falls off a cliff in the last third.
Who Built The Moon is the only album Noel has released that sounds fresh, energetic, relevant and doesn't live in the shadow of Oasis
Council Skies is fine, but might be the most throwaway record he's ever released.

Not including the bonus tracks, Fort Knox is the best song on WBTM.

The alarm clock on Fort Knox is brilliant, really elevates the tune.

I really like the bells on both In the Heat of the Moment and Open the Door.

If Love Is The Law is overrated. Man that's a shame. I adore this song and feel it's the direction he should've gone in, especially after hearing Flying On The Ground.

The alarm clock on Fort Knox is brilliant, really elevates the tune. I was driving home with my wife one day and put WBTM at a lower volume so we can keep talking and at some point she goes "What the hell is that sound, it's so annoying?" I explained what it was and she thought putting that sound was a stupid idea.

Lock All the Doors is a great tune. Open the Door is too. Death of You and Me is okay. Never understood all the love for it. Pretty Boy sucks.
I'm sure I have more.

I mean, it's alright but it's among my least listened tracks from WBTM. There's something I don't like about the mix too... I'd rather have Black & White Sunshine to be honest, which seems underrated on here. I do love Flying on the Ground by the way.

Black and White Sunshine is another favorite of mine too and is vastly underrated, no one ever talks about it. One thing about If Love Is The Law is it's clear Holmes was going for a Spector-like retro wall of sound, and it works wonderfully here with the sleigh bells and the analog-style reverb effects on everything. It seems like Noel was going for this sound on Wandering Star, but failed miserably due to no Holmes and the melody being a bland slab and the lyrics amongst the most miserably derived pennings he's done.

Tbe Girl with X-ray eyes is a great song
The production of IIHAG is ok: not great, not terrible. This opinion is unpopular only in this forum. IIHAG is the most popular NGHFB song for casual listeners
Dave Sardy is a good and versátile producer as shown in multiple works with multiple artists. When he works with Noel, he gives him what he wants because that's his job
Oasis should never reform
Alone in the rope is just ok
