I never even bought the original Masterplan album. I never saw the point as I had all the b-sides on the singles. Those who didn't have all the singles might have snapped the album up but if they wanted all the b-sides they still had to buy all the singles (I suspect the tracklist was carefully planned that way). The Masterplan album didn't help them save any money. That's not strictly true, C&A and SMS are represented in full on The Masterplan album, albeit with a slightly edited version of I Am The Walrus.

The Masterplan album didn't help them save any money. If I remember correctly it was originally targeted for the American market place. It was tough to get Oasis import singles in 1995-2000. When they did appear the 4 track singles were $25-30 a pop. This compilation helped. Plus it was a continuous listen instead of popping CD singles out every 15 minutes.

The Masterplan was the one and only album I owned on MiniDisk I had loads of self made MiniDisk compilations which were awesome but that was the only official album I bought. Think it cost me nearly £20 and that’s 20+ years ago!🤯

Doesn't help that they shared a story that tagged '@theoasisreunion'

As an American, I still bought it so I could have a bunch of the songs all on the same CD. I had tracked down most of the import CD singles at $12-18 a pop, but I remember not having "Going Nowhere" yet and really enjoying finally getting to hear that song. Everything else I already knew.

Finding Oasis singles in local record shops in America back in 94/95 was like discovering gold. Those were good times. They usually only had one copy too, so you felt lucky.

I still have the original vinyl from 1998 of the album and also the 10' vinyl boxed set.

I still remember finding the Wonderwall single at a record store in Torrance, CA on vacation and hearing The Masterplan for the first time. Good shit.

This is the album that turned me from fan to super fan. This is the one that made me track down singles in shops and live tracks on file share sites. This is the one that got me reading every interview I could with the band. The fact that it’s not a proper studio album means almost nothing because this record itself means so, so much to me.
Almost all my favourite Oasis songs are on it. And it’s the best representation of the breadth of music they made.
That said, Round are Way definitely should have been on there in place of The Swamp Song.

That said, Round are Way definitely should have been on there in place of The Swamp Song. I always figured this would turn people on into hunting down the rest of the singles, digging out everything they could then find. For that alone it was a worthwhile release. But for the fans that already had everything to date it was a little disappointing; certainly for me anyway. Remember thinking at the time if they'd have chucked on Sad Song or Bonehead's Bankholiday as even secret tracks it would have been a must buy. Then I heard Listen Up at a friends and was appalled they'd cut down the guitar solo so was thankful I didn't feel I had to get it. Also having very little money at that age meant I couldn't justify buying it. Despite all this however I'm glad it's getting attention for the anniversary. It just showed how strong Noel's writing was at the time that even a B-Sides album could be a big seller. Great to hear stories like this, turning fans into super fans.

Vintage Vinyl in Fords, New Jersey was my one stop for all of the imported singles when I was a kid. I think I bought every single there outside of Stand By Me. I am pretty sure the people who worked there would think "god, here's the Oasis kid again" every time I walked in that place! Come to think of it, that's where I bought Be Here Now on release day, August 26 for the Americans. I still remember that they had stickers on the floor ("this way to Oasis- Be Here Now") that led to the Oasis section/display of Be Here Now CDs. I may have been the only person in there that morning buying it! Some good memories there.

To pile on the love for Round Are Way: IATW is a okay cover of a garbage song and I would have MUCH rather had RAW in its place.

😴 The ‘Chasing The Sun’ reissues doesn't have the "the masterplan" edits (like the cut down Listen Up). I wonder if they'll redo the edits for this version, or if they'll but the full tracks on...

The Oasis staff always manage to do worse than any other band. The new editions never contain anything that really makes you say "Wow". These are always very similar things to what we already have. Their work is always at a minimum.

It's embarrassing.
When you see what other bands put out, and we KNOW they could do the same. It does my nut in that the "collectors" will buy all the packages, just don't do it. Make a point
Even Liam is pissed with all this reissuing shit, it's pointless

I didn't expect much but fuck me. Re-release of remasters they released 10 years ago? They're spoiling us now.

A live version of the songs included in the album would not have been very difficult to obtain..... As usual, Creation disappointing the fans.

Disappointing but expected.
Also I bought the WTSMG cassette reissue back in the 25th anniversary and the quality is shockingly bad. The tracklist printed on the cassette wears off whenever you touch it.
Fingers crossed for the DM 30th anniversary reissue, which I hope will consist in different takes of the album, hopefuly different artwork, like a "raw version".
