Yeah, mine would be different too, but it'd be missing the point that all these songs are good examples of everything that he is as a songwriter/composer.

While the Song Remains the Same The Dying of the Light Freaky Teeth We're Gonna Get There In The End Dream On Broken Arrow Dead to the World Easy Now Black & White Sunshine We're On Our Way Now Dead in the Water It's a Beautiful World The Man Who Built the Moon We're On Our Way Now Riverman A Dream is All I Need to Get By If I Had a Gun Flying on the Ground Sail On You Know We Can't Go Back Reading that list and thinking how it is miles above Noel's output from 97 to 09. Letting the others write for Oasis was a bigger mistake than using so many great songs as bsides.

I know that there's a fair chunk of posters on this forum who have a downer on Noel these days but in all honestly, I personally feel as though a lot of his post Oasis work has been good to great with the odd bit of outstanding thrown in for good measure. His success rate for HFB has been much better than anything from 2000 - 2008 and I'm sure that CS will be a thoroughly enjoyable listen when I finally get my hands on it. Would we have got to hear the sheer amount/variety of songs that he has released post Oasis if they had never broken up? I very much doubt it. I can't figure out if his comments about a potential Oasis reunion are bollocks or not but I really hope that we don't go down the 5-6 Noel songs + Liam / Andy / Gem route again. Would be an absolute travesty in my opinion.

He wrote songs to Liam's voice and the "Oasis rock" and "60s British-influenced" style, then didn't fully dig out of that until Chasing Yesterday -> Who Built the Moon? (no shade on Alone on the Rope, Let the Lord Shine a Light on Me and Soldier Boys and Jesus Freaks, though). I can even tell on Counci Skies his Oasis-style songwriting has some of that David Holmes influence and it really makes the songs feel more fluid and groove in a way we wouldn't have ever gotten with Oasis.

Yep. But I’d change that to 2002-2009.
