The Beatles are the most UNDERRATED band of all time.

My favorite Damon Albarn project is the soundtrack to Ravenous.

You can think they're rubbish and their songs are not up to much (although you might need your hearing checked), but you can't say The Beatles are 'overrated'. Not when you consider their influence on music and their cultural reach, on top of the billion records they sold.
"I think they're rubbish", fine. I think they're 'overrated'....that's just denying facts.

I actually dislike most British ‘indie’ music, stuff like the Stone Roses, Smiths, The La’s is all a bit dull (I’m aware all three of those bands sound different to each other) In the same vein, Britpop is the single most overrated period of music ever, you have 2 or 3 good bands and the rest is derivative rubbish. Oasis are not Britpop, they are a Rock band who came out at the same time. Early Manics and Suede are great also but the rest of the bands can do one. Here's another loaded statement, The Stone Roses debut is wildly overrated, with at least four duff tunes on it. The outro on I Am The Resurrection is meandering bollocks that ruins a good first half of a song, there's absolutely no need to listen to it after the final chorus, time to switch the album off. It's a good album at best, nothing more. But their shoddy reunion and hilariously awful comeback singles showed that the myth overrides any real quality. John Squire is a technically brilliant but derivative guitarist and Ian Brown has one of the worst voices in music, adding to his appalling lyrics that are just word salad. That, and he is and always was the biggest prick in music.

Bob Dylan might be my personal favourite vocalist ever.
I don't think anyone can wring as much out of each and every word as him; particularly in his truly incredible post-1997 later career, I can listen to almost every song back and just love the way he emotes with such well-worn subtlety on every track. He was ear-grabbing, arresting, and tender in his folk years. He was surreal, stretched, and absurd in his electric years. He could croon a ballad in his country years. He's not a great technical singer by any means, but I don't think I actually enjoy listening to anyone singing a song more than him.
He's not bad at writing them, either.

I think the outro to I Am the Resurrection is a fantastic jam that encapsulates all the excitement around that record and some of the fusion the Roses brought. If you turn off IATR after the final chorus, it's like turning off Champagne Supernova after the verse before the solo... The debut's got some pretty good songs too. Otherwise, I agree about the reunion. The singles capitalized on what people remembered about the Roses but didn't do too much else. The shows were neat but the prospects of an album, only to never get it, was super disappointing.

They’d be a lot better too without the knobhead frontman though.

Nevermind is a decent album, not much more. A 6/10 with some highlights but a reputation that is far greater than the actual product.
Something In The Way is one of the dullest pieces of music ever and I hated how it was further popularized through the new Batman movie. I despise how Kurt felt it necessary to spend an entire verse of Come As You Are just playing the same melody on his guitar and while Smells Like Teen Spirit will always be a good song it suffers from the same repetitive approach.

I'll wade into the Stone Roses discussion, the first album is great, but that band is carried by everyone EXCEPT Ian Brown. The drummer is the best thing in that band, followed by John Squire and Mani. But Ian has always had a shit voice.
Also, Fools Gold is massively overrated, and dare I say it - BORING

I don’t really like Pink Floyd - they’re amazing, it’s just not for me.
It’s possible to not like something, and still recognize talent and genius.
Thanks.

I do think What the World is Waiting For, Love Spreads and Breaking into Heaven are all better, though (and of course IATR) but I see the place Fools Gold has in their discography.

Pink Floyd are my favourite band of all time but I totally understand why people don’t get them. I’m actually surprised by how popular they are because a lot of their stuff isn’t exactly accessible by most pop standards. That said, I personally think they’re incredible

I can't get into any folk music or singer-songwriter, no matter who it is. I'd rather die than listen to a Bob Dylan record or Iron & Wine, James Taylor or Joni Mitchell. I can't stand it. I hate that mellow acoustic folk crap too, Neil Young and Noel Gallagher are the only artists I like hearing do acoustic tracks.

The following bands suck, and have sucked since…
Radiohead, since they sold off their guitars
U2, since they started following trends instead of their hearts
Weezer, since they started going for quantity over quality
REM, since 1992.

New Adventures in HiFi is very good, solid final record with the original four.

Ash are underrated. Free All Angels is one of my favorite albums of all time. It brings summer into your house. Great melodies and catchy songs.
Twilight of the Innocents is the best song of 2007, dark wibe, haunting feeling, fitting lyrics and monstrous drums. It builds up slowly and offers a lot of hooks. Probably their best song. The whole album is very solid.
