I think we need that I’ll start by saying that “comfortably numb” was carried by gilmours unbelievable guitar solo but the song didn’t age well. Also Thom Yorkes Voice annoys me. Can you try not to cry on every song? Thanks.

I can't get into any folk music or singer-songwriter, no matter who it is. I'd rather die than listen to a Bob Dylan record or Iron & Wine, James Taylor or Joni Mitchell. I can't stand it.

The Beatles don't have a single album that is genuinely great(9/10 or more).
The first half of Abbey Road is in-cre-di-ble, but never was a fan of the medley...

**deep breath**
Firstly, agree Arctic Monkeys are overrated. I really like a lot of their songs, but I still think broadly they aren't that incredible.
Can't stand Bob Dylan, or any music of that sort of genre. Country sucks.
Rolling Stones = meh (other than a few songs)
The View are a massively underrated band in the UK, their new song "Feels Like" was huge, but they still get no attention.
The first two Gorillaz albums are light years ahead of anything they have done since. I still enjoy a lot of their new stuff, but those 2 albums are masterpieces, for different reasons. Plastic Beach ain't got nothing on them.
Miley Cyrus should quit pop and launch herself into the rock genre, she has an incredible voice for it
The three best artists in the UK right now are Wolf Alice, Sam Fender, and The 1975 (fight me)
Aaaaaand finally, excluding the dreadful Beady Eye, and the awful Noel EP title tracks, I enjoy almost all of the solo Noel/solo Liam output. Most of it is really good. People here are too critical/analytical about it. I listen to post 2010 gallagher MUCH more than anything between 2000-2010
**phew**
NOTE: Emphasis on opinions^

Guns N' Roses are horse shit I fully agree with you apart from November Rain. I've always loved that song. But the rest of their stuff is shit.

Let's raise the stakes a little:
The Beatles are nothing more or less than the world's first successful boy band. Listening to Bob Dylan woke them up to the fact that music could be about more than "I wanna hold your hand" kinda fluff, but that's about it.
I'll take The Animals, The Who, The Kinks, The Rolling Stones and The Small Faces over the The Beatles all day, every day.
(I'll get my coat)

I can't tell what it is but there is something lame and shit about Kinks and they are not that popular for a reason.
And I love them and just spent whole evening listening to them 😁

But obviously, the musical aesthetic of The Beatles had nothing to do with the boy band thing that came back full forces in the 90's The problem of the boys bands aren't that they are boys bands, is that they're shite. It's like the girls groups, The Supremes and All Saints were both girls groups, but they're uncomparable.

Let's go to town here.... Rolling Stones are middle class posh boys pretending to be rebellious Americans, playing derivative blues with a singer who’s voice is weak as piss.

I could take my enjoyment of a lot of modern pop and my disinterest in a lot of classic rock to paste together all kinds of brain-fizzling opinions, I suppose. I'd honestly rather listen to WAP than a good portion of Pink Floyd songs. I enjoy "Beautiful People" by Ed Sheeran and Khalid more than I enjoy Stairway to Heaven. On the other hand, these opinions would be completely benign to most people out there just living their lives; I suppose it's the emotive cultural hierarchy of music that emerges in more intense fan cultures that I dislike. After all, most music fans outside of here would disdain us all for loving Oasis more than Radiohead, for instance. But you like what you like!
It's all wobbly air playing havoc on the wet stuff in our skulls in the end, I like to just have fun with it.

Stairway to Heaven is shit. Actually, Led Zeppelin is shit and all their songs. And all those long haired heavy metal hard rock bands like Guns and Roses, Aerosmith... It's all so kitsch. Everything about them is so kitsch and tasteless. And shite.

Just a bit more on Rolling Stones, how they are on put on a pedestal with The Beatles is beyond me.
The Beatles could actually sing and write great tunes. They were more eclectic and experimental, and just generally funnier guys.
I honestly think it was a bunch of posh southern English journalists who hyped them up as they couldn't stomach four northern English scruffy lads being better than them in every single way.

This I absolutely agree with. I like her new album pretty well, especially the first half, but Plastic Hearts was fricking amazing.

Pink Floyd are cool, maybe not all of their stuff but there's a lot that's very enjoyable if not great Don't get the hype about Led Zeppelin either, although they were all brilliant musically, but then I can't really get my head around most classic rock acts

The thing I'm starting to really not like about music 'communities' is the rating thing (put on a pedestal on sites such as Rate Your Music) and the constant posing you'll see in those communities. I remember doing a semester of music studies, and you'll get all the usual metalheads slagging off popular tunes that aren't classic rock (a genre far from being underground in itself btw, a quick look at Spotify numbers should show to this community they aren't as special as they think they are), just like my classmates spent the whole semester mocking Wonderwall. Funnily enough, most of them never even heard about The Velvet Underground, neither did they about the Motown scene or any bossanova stuff. Their view of music is incredibly narrow.
