A new one. One of his better ones. It's a cute conspiracy but it's easily debunkable if you think about it for even a minute. I'm sure even James knows that. First, the recording happened back in 2015 as James said himself. HFB didn't release just 1 album after that but 2. There was only one after this recording was released sure, but he said those things back in 2015. Second, if Liam was there, how many people just from that day would have had to keep quiet for nearly 10 years? Not just the people working in the studio but when they were coming into the studio, going out of the studio. No one, not even with a camera phone, would have released that online? Furthermore, Liam would have said something, probably cryptically but still. Third, the harshest Noel's been towards Liam and the harshest Paul and Liam were towards Noel was 2017 and onwards. In "As It Was", Paul sounds really resentful towards Noel. I highly doubt there was a secret relationship going on. Fourth, if this song was really about Liam, I don't believe he would have kept it in the setlist. Although he's still playing If I Had a Gun so I could be wrong about this one. But still, it is a fun little conspiracy theory. |

I think it was definitely a picture behind him of them two, and he was definitely taking the piss with his comments (both the negative, and the positive about saying they have to keep the subterfuge going). But it was interesting hearing that extended recording.

Its pretty obvious they took advantage of the feud for years, overplaying it, just like in the Oasis days.
I doubt there's a conspiracy there though, but the two probably never stopped talking to each other, and more and more as years went by.
To me the reunion has been planned for years, Liam stopping recording solo records and doing a more "risky" one with Squire but going back to the Oasis territories and sound. A project that probably took a year or two. Noel also going back slowly to a more Oasisy sound.
So Noel and Liam have been planning this since at least 2022. maybe even earlier.
His theory seems a bit far-fetched though. A divorce can take many years to be completed; That's not because they go out together that they are not on the verge of divorce. Noel and Sarah were seen listening to some people singing Wonderwall in a restaurant for them weeks before the divorce was announced.

The idea that Noel leaves a little trail of breadcrumbs for those clever (or obsessed) enough to work out, is something that exists more in Hargreaves' head than reality I think.

Someone would have leaked it to sell paper about an Oasis reunion. No way this could have stayed a secret. As it was documentary is a shame. It’s a great watch though! What did Ben Kenobi say - everything is true from a certain point of view! I suppose its a star wars ref but i never seen any of them Id say its true if you make people believe it. So i guess as it was is the new Oasis bible post Oasis. What is true is that there is two sides to every story, unfortunately Liam’s side in as it was is the 3rd one 😁 |
