On first listen I prefer Pretty Boy but it’ll take a few listens. Or at least I hope it will because it does just sound a bit like Noel on autopilot which is disappointing after some of the stuff he’s done the last few years. I still prefer We’re On Our Way Now. That one has proper emotion in its delivery imo.

I like the song, but I get the feeling I'll get bored of it after a few listens
agree with several earlier posts, Flying on the Ground is the best one of these bunch of new songs in the same vein

I really like it. But to be fair, it's very much what I expected for the better half of the decade. WBTM burned me out quite a bit. I wished for a return to form, and now we got it! Only this time, he's fully delivered on the little-bit-of-experimentation side.
Also, Easy Now is a 9/10 for me. A nice melancholic tune for the bus rides back to the apartment day to day.

Yeah, reminds me a lot of Wandering Star if that song had less cheesy production, that was my first thought as well - and that's not a bad thing. Actually, what also immediately came to mind is that it'll sound really good with Pretty Boy on the same album. Don't know why. It just will.

This is Noel going back to his 'normal' style and I like it. Now he is getting divorced, he doesn’t need to try to write music to impress his wife because she likes disco music and not his usual music

Sounds like Travis. The vocals are great, especially the verses. But the the song itself is subpar compared to what he's released recently and it's hardly going to be kicking any doors in.
4,5/10 in the grande scheme of things

That’s more or less what I expected It’s quite nice and I agree with people who likes the verses. But chorus is meh and its melody is not memorable. Maybe I’m saying it too soon? Maybe. Can grow on me I’m really glad that his shit dance music era is over, there is little hope now 6,5/10

We never know, he might have written this song when they were still together.

Want to be critical but after a few listens it's not that bad, just feels very familiar.

Effortless Noel, but not in a bad way — it just doesn’t blow me away. I do find his comparison to LbL confusing, but he’s never been the best judge of his own music…

I like it, classic Noel. Not as euphoric as Little By Little though, more melancholic in my opinion.

I'm more a Liam fan but i'm enjoying this song a lot. As jh says above its classic Noel. No crazy dad dance music or that, just to me a proper Noel ballad.
Hope the albums more old skool what i'm used to instead of dance orientated. Like the two songs so far so pre ordered the deluxe album. Hope he gets back to doing what he does best

Great verse, bad bridge and bland chorus I'd expect better from a NG single

Just seems like he has gone a bit too far the other way after WBTM, which I didn't like either. I think I'm just too picky. If it's on the radio I'll probably hum along to it but I don't think I'll go out of my way to stick it on.

Poorly mixed and boring. Inoffensive is probably the best word for it.
Thankfully with the EPs and singles over the past few years we know he's still capable of a belter when he puts his mind to it. Probably just playing it safe with this one.

I'm... whelmed... I know it's not a word but being a Noel fan, this song is too Noel-like to be overwhelmed or underwhelmed.

It's good ... but, musically, I would prefer the album to go more in the direction of Pretty Boy Your kidding right ? Pretty Boy is probably the worst thing Noel has ever done and that is saying something considering the rubbish (with a few exceptions ) he has put out since WBTM . Am hoping Pretty Boy is a bad anomaly on this new album .

I quite like the melody and the arrangements, and will enjoy listening to it days to come. It's a nice song with a classic happy-sad Noel vibe. But why does it sound so bad? It's muffled, the vocals are low and the song has no punch at all anywhere – reminds me of the debut sound, slightly worse even. Play Pretty Boy and this back to back and it's really noticeable.

It's Noel by the numbers, but he's good at it.
People just want to complain whatever he puts out.
The best part for me is the structure, it all feels very cohesive without being verse > chorus > verse > chorus etc.
And you know it'll sound big live.
It's not the best thing he's ever written, even solo wise. But for what it is, it's good, IMO.
'All the love you've ever made' - which song (of his own) has he nicked that from? I know it's one...

Sometimes I wonder if mix engineers are putting less effort into the mixes now because the majority of people just listen to music on their shitty phone speakers anyway I do actually work in audio engineering, and I’ve known plenty of people who mix and Master music who sometimes say they don’t know why they bother putting so much time in creating good mixes and masters if the majority of people listen on shitty headphones and phone speakers and stuff these days. That’s probably not the reason if this mix doesn’t sound great because I think most people still take pride in their work, but that kind of attitude towards it could eventually create complacency in peoples work.

First listen- I'm not getting first single vibes. Sits a bit aside from going back to the start- for me that would be a little more optimistic. Both songs so far have a world weary sound to them.
