Week later.. Check back in. Yup, they’re still debating the merits of Easy Now As you were.

After listening to it off and on for a couple of weeks, I still don't care much for it. In general I usually prefer moody songs to cheerful ones, which works out great with Noel most of the time because he tends to go more melancholy, but yeah, this one wants to be uplifting to an almost cheesy degree, and it just doesn't work for me.
Speaking of cheese, I especially do not like Noel's little "oh-oh" at the end of the "fare" line. Absolute worst bit of the song for me. I also find "your destination comes without a fare" just really awkward phrasing. Destinations don't come at all; you go TO them. That's the whole idea of a destination. It's easy to nitpick Noel's phrasing, though, and if I liked the rest of the song, then that line probably wouldn't bother me (much).
I rated it a 5/10 in the poll two weeks ago, and that's still where I'm at. And since we're comparing our bona fides, I hated most of WBTM (especially Holy Mountain!!) and loved Pretty Boy.

Your destination is your home/wherever you end up belonging that doesn't come with a price tag.

Don't think he means it that way, thought it was more your destination comes i.e presents itself without a fare, it costs you nothing. Worst phrasing for me is Pretty Boy when he says I want to get me free. Fucking drives me insane that lyric. Could have at least said SET me free.

At first I couldn't convince myself of this song after "Pretty Boy" left me somewhat underwhelmed, but once it hit me, it hit me good. The last time I felt the same way about The Chief's creative output was with "Dead In The Water". Good to know he's still got it.
8/10

At first listen I thought ‘Easy Now’ was a typical Noel by numbers song. After listening to it many times now it’s easily the best song Noel’s released in years…it’s amazing and that single release completely changed my opinion about the upcoming album. 8.5/10

I have to admit I was very much on the side of more WBTM and EP 'experimenting' and no traditional oasisy stuff. However, this song is so awesome I'm happy it is part of his discography. I also disagree that this track suffers from the same drab production as the debut album. I love it.
