The penalties given in this tournament... Remove VAR completely until referres get their shit together. They want to transform the whole sport and for what reason? And Argentina got a bullshit penalty (once again AFTER VAR review) in the first game as well. I'm absolutely livid that they(FIFA) seem to want to increase the total goals scored in this tournament and as a result invent new rules for penalties. Get fucked.

The scandal is not necessarily that the penalty was given, it's that it wasn't given and then overturned. "Clear and obvious", anyone?
Learn from the NFL, where adults have made the rules.

I wouldn't recommend saying "learn from the NFL" when the NFL under constant scrutiny even week over blatant calls that favor the offense or blatant missed calls that favor defense. Mainly catching calls, that are still fucked. Like you said earlier that Fifa is trying to increase goals scored is exactly what the NFL has been doing. Making multiple rule changes that favor the offense to score more points and get more people watching. MLB has done it as well (though there problem is length of games) and so has the NHL. The infamous no call in the NFC Championship game years ago led to a reviewable pass interference replays where every contested pass was reviewed and the rule was so bad they threw it out after a year.

I was only thinking of the way that you can only overturn a referee's decision if it's clearly wrong. That's the only approach that can work in the long run.

Ahh, my mistake, misinterpreted you comment. Yes, there are a few times when instant replay can overturn refs initial decisions, you are correct on that, but it's only in very certain spots. Sorry about that. Though now the thought of a manager using a "challenge flag" would be interesting...

And flags is actually a better idea than VAR finding situations that no one in the stadium notices and cares about.

Is one goal for 85 minutes effective against Argentina? Arnold is an idiot if he thinks that it can. Also, Luke Wiltshire, to the guillotine.

So did Vlahovic fuck the coach's wife or why the hell is he still on the bench? So it was the wife of the reserve goalkeeper, my bad!

Wales were pure gash eh? Thon keeper Ward completely flogged the 1st and 3rd goals against England, popadom hands. He wasn't too clever for both of the goals Iran stuck past him too.
As much as I want Argentina to do well, I just can't take to Messi. Something about him I really don't like.
