Sam Matterface single handedly destroys every game in the World Cup.
He could be commentating on the greatest game ever and it would be ruined just by his presence alone. Such an awful and annoying commentator and I hope he gets binned.

The vast majority of British commentators are utterly devoid of any sense of the joy of football: that it should be fun, entertaining, passionate, human. They all speak with the manner of a stiff-tied civil servant commissioning a new line of washing detergents for a firm in Altringham. Ally McCoist might be Yer Da at times, but you get the sense he fucking loves watching football. When he went "Magic, innit?" seeing Germany lose the other day, you could almost see the co-commentator squirm at the bias of it, but it was great stuff. It's supposed to be fun! It was magic! I know he's a bit over-theatrical and rehearsed sometimes, but I also love the unashamed drama of Peter Drury: |

Roy Keane had a rant years ago just after he retired,saying all commentators are shite and people should watch the games with the sound off, I did, since then if I watch a game at home it's headphones on, listen to music...stuck on itv there, presenter says how many teams get built around a 37 year old, souness:well how many ronaldos have you seen in your lifetime? Fuckin dying for someone to say two, and the first one was better... |

It's either gonna be a close win for the USA that feels like a loss, or an absolute blowout win for Iran. I see no other outcome after what the USMNT twitter posted. Better ways to show solidarity.

My choice for the knock-outs. Still not sure why no-one plays Grealish in the midfield. His possession-play is the best of all our forwards, he wins fouls all over the shop, he drifts into dangerous areas like he's half-dreaming, and it takes away the pressure to get those G/A when creating dangerous situations is what he's best at. Maddison also a top player.  |

Maddison also a top player. I’ve got the same team as you except with Foden in the middle because of what a technician he is and Grealish on the left. Both of them are ace. They should both be starting. |

What did they post? They posted a some graphic with the Iranian flag and the USA flag but the Iranian flag had no Islamic republic symbol in the middle to show solidarity with the protests. Iran then lobbied for the USA to be banned from the world cup in retaliation. The twitter post has since been removed. |
