I think it's a load of bullshit, I mean it'll be released in another 10 years? Really, the truth is they could release it at any time they wanted and not on some anniversary.

I think that’s the irony with that (mock) statement. Oasis management is constantly reading the temperature wrong.

While I do enjoy the hilarious myth of some vast, anonymous, gatekeeping “Oasis Management” … this thread needs a lil reality check. Making ANY worthwhile product requires someone’s focused time and attention and, in this particular case, that comes down to one single person who is y'know ... kinda busy doing other things ... and also not that into you ... Meanwhile, in real life, middle-aged fan memories notwithstanding, the Knebworth film was a stunning success. It was a critical hit, the highest grossing UK doc of 2021, streamed worldwide on major platforms, and even with bare-bones promotion, managed to energize and grow the fan-base of a long-defunct band (and also to promote Liam's solo shows by proxy), no easy hat-trick. Plus, it did all that less than 5 years after a movie covered similar territory. The album also charted in more than a dozen countries and was certified Silver in the UK. Nothing to sneeze at. Doing it right actually matters! For me, one of Noel’s best remaining qualities is that he still believes in quality … even as the culture screams for quantity.

And don’t tell about believing into quality please. I saw enough to know that’s not true

The films have undoubtedly been excellent and well made. I’m not so sure some of the reissues were of the same quality.

The Chasing the Sun reissues released between 2014 and 2016 were quite good, in retrospect.
We got some interesting early demos, a couple of unreleased tracks, the full Mustique tape, nice booklets and extra stuff cured by Brian Cannon. The main downsides were the bad choice of live tracks (and there were too many of them) and the notorious 'Trip Inside' fuck-up. The Super Deluxe Editions (although overpriced) were nice.
These 25th anniversary edition are as lame as they can get: expensive picture discs, two cassettes, a couple of t-shirts and what else? Stickers? It feels like they just want to milk out hard-core fans and completists.

I gotta say, I wish they were doing the Japanese vinyl using the original sleeve designs. The 2014 / 2016 sleeves are just not as well done.

Well, yeah, like anyone they do expect to be paid for their wares but there's an easy solution. You don’t want it, don’t buy it. You think it’s crap, don’t buy it. No one is forcing you to part with your money! (And I get that some of us are such compulsive completists we can't say no, but I'm afraid that’s a problem of one's own making. I spend too much money on boots because I have a boot fetish, but I can't blame the bootmakers for doing what they do.)
One of the funniest things to me about “Oasis Management” is this entity is said to be both endlessly greedy and so stingy it’s unwilling to release anything! The truth is more banal. Facts are that more substantive releases will happen, but on Noel’s schedule, since his time (and interest) is required for anything on the scale of a rethink of old material or the making of another concert film (each of which take a lot more work than people seem to realize. I know you think you just want raw files spilled but that will not go well IRL or benefit the legacy.) Of course other countries also have to be heard from (let’s call it “Younger Brother Management”) and releases have to work with the scheduling of their current careers so as not to be at cross-purposes. (When you compare Oasis to other bands, it's also useful to remember that it hasn't existed in 13 years.)
But, for all that, you did just get a very major Oasis release in 2021, and it hasn’t even been a year. There will be more, young grasshoppers.
In the meanwhile, bully away if it floats your boat. You might also take up whistling into the wind as a hobby. I’ll bow out of this thread. Just had to interject a wee bit of reality.

I don't think they released all the good material from the first three albums on the Chasing The Sun releases, but I'm sure it's being saved until a much later release, maybe when they're really old and making a living enterely from the oasis days. I think we need to rest a bit from the 90's.
