There’s nothing wrong with my world, and these things really don’t matter now. 🎶
Flashbax…. Oasis’ back catalogue is incredible - made discovering this band so enjoyable. Can’t be depressed listening to Oasis. What a tune!

Ahh that whistle solo, wonder if that was Noel.
It would totally fit on BHN instead of Magic Pie, but I think Noel wrote it after the album's release.

Really dislike this song. Noel's vocals are annoying and it signals the death of Oasis as a vibrant energetic rock band into something more middle aged and plodden.
Would have been improved with Liam vocals of course but nevertheless, something about the song just grates and drags.

This is when their back catalogue became meh. Flashbax is a fun song but it's too long, which is a problem for that entire era except for a few songs. I much prefer Stay Young, (I Got) The Fever and Going Nowhere.

I've always liked it and it's the best b.side from the All Around The World single. But the song isn't as good as (I Got) The Fever or My Sister Lover though.

Great song in my opinion. Think Paul Weller once said it was his favourite Oasis song too if I'm not mistaken.
I really don't get anyone saying it was some kind of beginning of the demise or anything. It's a b-side for crying out loud.
Its a million times better than Magic Pie.

Ahh that whistle solo, wonder if that was Noel. Sounds like Noel. Seriously. And out of all the band members, I can only see Noely doing this one. Plus, he’s the singer of the song innit.

This and The Fame are perfect b-sides to 9 minutes of AATW.

I never understood the 'its too long' thing. The longer, the more epic, the more monumental, the better! Be Here Now should have included all the b-sides with different track listing and been the oasis double album that they never had. It's the white album for a different generation. Singles should have been EPs with mustique demos as b-sides. Buy all the singles/EPs and you get the mustique demos collection. This would have been amazing.

Oasis Roadie your spot on He has said this a few times I was hoping that Noel would give us a live version someday but as we know our Noel is stuck in his ways I am still waiting for The Girl with X Ray eyes to be sung live in concert

Its a million times better than Magic Pie. Maybe 'just a b-side', but this is Oasis. Every b-side Oasis released prior to this was quality and much much better.

I ride for Magic Pie everyday since the album dropped in 1997. Still think that Magic Pie is the right song done in the wrong way, it is a bit overdone I guess, also very maligned from the start cos DLBIA set the bar too high for a Noel sung song on an album. As for Flashback while it would have fit on BHN it is definitely a b-side, it wasn't not even on those Mustique demos, Noel wrote it after the album's release.

Agreed, it is a million times better than Magic Pie. I didn't realise that Paul Weller once said it was his favourite Oasis song. I wonder if it still is?

In fairness, I hadn’t listened to the song in years when I posted the above, so I’ve just gone and listened to it again after all these years.
Wow, I think I hate it even more now! But seriously, of the BHN b-sides, they are lacking the usual quality barring Going Nowhere, although I've always had a soft spot for My Sister Lover. Loud and proud with a great Liam performance.

I Got The Fever is an absolutely brillant b-side imo, should have been on The Masterplan for sure. The Fame is good too, Flashbax kinda falls off in comparison. I still like it, the songwriting is decent enough, but I agree that it doesn't really have Oasis vibes, especially compared with the glorious heroin fueled madness that is the rest of the BHN era.

Most of the Be Here Now b.sides are better than most of Be Here Now itself. However, that doesn't include the cover versions of Hereos or Street Fighting Man obviously and I've never been a big fan of Angel Child or The Fame but they're ok.

There was a time when every b-side was totally twinned with whatever was on the album. They had the same layer of sound as the ones on the album. And Flashbax had that. And when you got to the bridge you were in for a surprise. The whistle instead of the guitar solo too, completely in tune with Be Here Now.
