These are so pretty, just ordered the red one (they're not available on Sony Music JP anymore but are available on the Tower Records site if anyone's interested) these are not JUST pretty these are the 1st ever OFFICIAL Sony Japan vinyl pressings of any Oasis release, and they are being manufactured and mastered solely by Sony of Japan's new vinyl factory. Something you should know about Sony of Japan's pressing is that their pressings are UNBELIEVABLE. I recently got the Time Flies Box Set (JAPANESE VERSION) and they are probably the best sounding Oasis recordings i've ever heard. The vinyl is completely flawless and everything is done to such a high standard of quality. Really was blown away by the sound. So if Sony Music Japan is saying that they are doing everything for these releases and releasing them as a Limited Edition, BELIEVE ME they will be incredible. They only use the best masters, and use the best cutting techniques which is why these are released as true limited editions. I ordered all 4. Already sold out in most places online, but i do see Tower JP having them but not sure if they have international shipping. Not for everyone, but if you are looking for some of the most special Oasis vinyl releases after the original pressings, these are definitely it! I can attest to that. They did some reissues of the Manics back catalogue and those are the definitive versions of those albums(but they were released on CDs only IIRC). One CD of the album and then another with the respective Bsides |

JUST ORDERED ALL 4 ON TOWER RECORDS, THANKYOU! it did say 'if this product is sold out, we will issue you a full refund' when i was checking out... which is a little concerning, but fingers crossed because these would be such an amazing addition to my vinyl collection |

These will be very high quality products, not at all comparable to the the mass-produced Big Brother reissues. Especially looking forward to The Masterplan, which is sourced from the 2009 masters (which are essentially the originals). Sony Japan's in-house pressings are second to none. The recent Time Flies release is impeccable. Get these if you can. Totally!! Was blown away by the Japanese Time Flies and I am a full on believer! The Japanese take their records seriously and it shows! |

As much as I wouldn’t really care for it, GMEX would be the gig IF they were to release a concert. (Though i’d vouch for almost any September gig to be released over that one). It’s unlikely though. Corporate greeds gonna mean that they’ll milk all they can out of the Knebworth album first before even a consideration of a Be Here Now Tour gig official release. It has only been out less than a year.

I didn’t know HMV has international shipping! just tried to order and it said "no international shipping" I’ve just managed to sort the shipping to the UK for them Didi,they do ship internationally HMV Japan 👍🏻 Ordered the pic disc and cassette as well , think that’s all we will get for the Anniversary unfortunately, bit annoying when they show perfect footage of the BHN tour clip as well but more than happy the more I read about the pressing quality of those LP’s in Japan. Will the LP’s be a different sound source than the loud re issues? Sounds like they will be if it says analog and first time ever pressed in Japan. |

The sound source for DM, MG and BHN is from the reissue masters. The Masterplan is from the 2009 reissue masters, which was a very good master (basically the originals, because I don't think the songs were remastered in 2009). That's the one I think will sound particularly good.
The others will be much higher quality pressings than the Big Brother reissues because Sony Japan complete the whole process in-house to an extraordinarily high standard
As others have said, they take the whole thing very seriously and they know what they're doing. These will be top notch releases, I'm sure.

Taking it seriously doesn't mean they're getting out the analog tapes to cut the vinyl. I have that issue of Time Flies as well, and it's great, but it's not an audiophile pressing by any means. It's certainly not all-analog. In fact, I very much doubt even the original pressings were cut from analog tape. (I'm aware that most of the early recordings were done to tape. I'm talking about the vinyl cutting procedure, which was most likely done from DAT tape.) |

I still have the original cassette versions of the first three albums plus the cassette version of The Masterplan album. And, I have all of the original vinyl versions of their albums .
I did buy the 25th anniversary versions of the first two albums but I'm not so bothered about this one besides it's my least favourite Oasis album anyway. Mind you, the picture disc might be a nice thing to have for the collection though.

I'd much rather something to celebrate the HC 20th. Oasis management seems to pretend Oasis split after BHN. The silver vinyl looks shit too. I'm hoping that one day they will re-release DM and MG with the original sleeve artwork. I too would have preferred a 20th anniversary addition of Heathen Chemistry with demos etc instead of this reissue. But again sadly it's a missed opportunity like it was with the 20th anniversary of Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants. |
