Sony Music Japan will not disappoint. Their pressing of "Time Flies" is INCREDIBLE They take this stuff very seriously, now that they have their own vinyl factory. Taking it seriously doesn't mean they're getting out the analog tapes to cut the vinyl. I have that issue of Time Flies as well, and it's great, but it's not an audiophile pressing by any means. It's certainly not all-analog. In fact, I very much doubt even the original pressings were cut from analog tape. (I'm aware that most of the early recordings were done to tape. I'm talking about the vinyl cutting procedure, which was most likely done from DAT tape.) this is TRUE-----thankfully i am not an audiophile (phew! lol) but i appreciate punchy, well made audio from my favourite bands. If this is anything like "Time Flies" i will be VERY satisfied----that edition of Time Flies comes alive with sound. You are right that many of the original analog tape masters were likely converted into digital OR maybe even originally recorded to DAT from the beginning. If i remember correctly the dude who mastered "The Masterplan" way back in 1998 or whatever had said that some of the songs masters were on DAT. We have to remember that in the 90s, analog production and appreciation had hit a low with the rise of CDs etc. The emphasis was ALL CD then so a lot of the vinyl you hear from the 90s may also have been digitally sourced... Either way, i needed some 'definitive' copies of these records with beautiful artwork and pressings so THESE WILL DO!!

A live album would be cool. Super cool but I don’t expect it to happen. Agreed. And, it would be a miracle if we ever did get one from this era.

My view with this one is that they're taking the piss when there's so much other stuff which they could have released instead.

It’s so ironic. The coolest stuff in the promo trailer and lyrics video aren’t actually part of any of the reissues.

"Keep an eye on Oasis’ social channels and the official #BeHereNow25 hashtag to keep up to date with all the upcoming anniversary celebrations, including previously unseen content from the era and exclusive fan activities"
Excerpt from the Be Here Now 25 email you've probably all just received. The 'previously unseen content' pricked my ears slightly. But I imagine this will just be photographs or handwritten lyrics. Desperate for some 'previously UNHEARD content!'

Unseen and unheard content could mean the same thing if we're very lucky 😉 and whats this good is that this basically confirms theres more on the way

Unseen and unheard content could mean the same thing if we're very lucky... I wouldn't get too excited. This could just be previously "unheard and unseen" interviews (shot last week) with some random fans who went to an Oasis concert in 1998. Oasis management seem to think we love this sort of crap.

Which is what we thought we’d get with Knebworth and look what happened. I know it’s completely different but keep the faith 😎

Unless there’s a surprise coming… and you all know what I’m alluding to….
then it’s a real damn shame because everything we’ve gotten from Oasis, NG and LG has been immense for literally the last decade… Chasing the Sun, third party’s Supersonic DVD, Down by the Thames, LG MTV unplugged….
And then this bullshit. Surely there must be some sort of surprise because what we currently have is sweet fuck all….

What I want to know is how much longer can the Oasis management get away with keep releasing different versions of the first three albums. I read really enjoyed the Chasing The Sun reissues as they at least had extra stuff with each album. And, I bought all three of the boxed sets plus each of the three cd albums too.

I think they’ll stop milking it after this one, such is the reaction. We will buy almost anything Oasis but there’s a justified and growing mutiny on this one. I’m really not happy. People are deluded if they think Noel/Oasis would do anything at all for the other albums. Deluded. That said, Oasis has too much good baggage from their career that surely there’s a lot hidden away in that vault. We probably will never see it though.

Remember the whole Be Here Now (song) Mystique debacle? Management hasn’t learnt their lesson. Stop fucking with us, get the powder out, and release all the chaos from that era. Please.

Well I sure hope that you're right about they'll stop after this one. But what about when the first three albums reach 30 years and so on? Mind you, that said they can't keep flogging different formats forever.

But this clownery needs to stop - they know what they’re doing (not in a good sense).

Also, would it kill them to have good attire?
I pick up my Oasis gear from EBay or Amazon - got a few decent bits and bobs from there. But fuck me, what are they playing at.

Yes, but the Oasis management don't have to keep releasing the first three albums in different formats when there's so much other unreleased stuff which they can release.

Looking back, it now feels like the chasing the sun editions could have been held back a few years. They were good releases with the demos and live versions and the Mystique Demos on the BHN one. After that, it's like the management have given up a little bit. These silver and picture discs do lack imagination.
Since the split, it's only really the Supersonic documentary that has done justice to, and helped cement, the band's legacy.
To be fair to Ignition, the Knebworth campaign last year was half-decent but why can't they be doing more along those lines?
For The Masterplan anniversary next year, a limited box set of the 12" singles from the era would be a nice release.
I do wonder if some of the reluctance to fully open the vaults has something to do with the fact Noel is still in the process of 'buying' back his own back catalogue (I think he said he forgoes royalties in order to one day quite soon own the whole catalogue). Maybe that has some bearing on things, I don't know. Perhaps after that, Noel and Ignition might show one more creativity with the commemorative releases - of all the albums, not just the first three.

I was actually thinking what you said about the Chasing The Sun releases yesterday actually and maybe they should have done those releases for the first three albums 25 years rather than for their 20 years.

I expect some live performances from the Be Here Now tour, because on disc 3 of the chasing the sun reissue, mustique demos took over everything and we didn't get any decent live songs other than My Big Mouth from Knebwoth that we got it 5 years later.

...For The Masterplan anniversary next year, a limited box set of the 12" singles from the era would be a nice release... Really? Yet more expensive repackaging of previously released material? That's what you want from them?
