What a night. Liam was on top top form tonight, with the white Knebworth 96 jacket! And John Squire came on stage for Champagne Supernova! Dedicated Slide Away to Debbie and Live Forever to his mom. Once was one big singalong and the fireworks just made it even more special.
More Power sounding really really good live! Overall just euphoric and memorable night.

Just got in.
Was a brilliant coming together of people, exactly what I’ve read was the point of Knebworth 96.
I only saw Oasis 2002 onwards so wasn’t old enough to go the first time.
First thing to say is Liam absolutely fucking smashed it. He is a fucking king. Note perfect. Great set list, I’ve said in another thread (for the first time in about 10 years) that I think he should have more conviction in his brilliant new album and his solo stuff generally… and I’m right! Everything’s electric was one of the moments of the night, and Once was sung as big as any Oasis song.
So, positives: a life affirming event as usual, everyone coming together, Liam puts on an amazing show.
Negatives: the sound halfway back was absolutely appalling, like hearing him on a phone speaker. We walked back to Stevenage which was a mission and a half, but when you get there they make people queue for no reason. We fucked the queue off and got on a completely empty train straight back to kings cross! Wouldn’t be surprised if people were still there now.

Been to both nigths this week and goding tomorrow.
I think his new album is shit but it is always amazing to see and experience hos much the Oasis songs means to the people of UK! Thank you guys! ❤️

We really don't need an Oasis reunion. Older fans wouldn't really care to see a greatest hits tour - we've heard the songs enough. As for the new generation of fans - they're getting it all from Liam. In addition, I think Oasis reforming and Noel writing new material would would merely take away from their legendary status.
This is possibly going to hurt Noel more than at any point since Oasis split, the fact Liam can sell out 2 nights at Knebworth and no one bats an eyelid about Noel not being involved.

There's a snarky 2-star review of Knebworth in the The Times that says pretty much the opposite. (The Oasis songs still excite, the solo songs don't.) Of course they are predisposed to dislike Liam but I'm not sure you can say that no one bats an eyelid. Some eyelids still bat.
Personally, I think what Liam is doing is wonderful and its own thing that can evolve further but it's not what it would be like to hear Liam and Noel sing together again. That is something different. Me, I'd kill to hear it again. Not at the cost of their happiness. But I'd be lying if I said otherwise.
