We really don't need an Oasis reunion. Older fans wouldn't really care to see a greatest hits tour - we've heard the songs enough. As for the new generation of fans - they're getting it all from Liam. In addition, I think Oasis reforming and Noel writing new material would would merely take away from their legendary status. This is possibly going to hurt Noel more than at any point since Oasis split, the fact Liam can sell out 2 nights at Knebworth and no one bats an eyelid about Noel not being involved. It really will. Controversial take but I actually think Noel being nicer about Liam lately is out of genuine respect for what he's gone and done. Despite all the shit they say and the fact he would never admit it, there has to be some genuine pride in his brother for doing this well.

Takes:
- Scale was astonishing - huge operation. Like Glastonbury, felt like a small temporary city had been erected! Massive. I can’t imagine what another 40,000 for Oasis must have been like!
- VIP area well worth the extra 20 quid or whatever - quieter backstage area with great food stalls and bar
- LG - looked and sounded amazing. White parka - I kinda gasped, knowing exactly why he chose that!
- New songs - Once, Wall Of Glass and Everything’s Electric getting Oasis-song receptions. The phone lights during More Power! Really beautiful (as LG said).
- Roll It Over had me in bits - what a tune.
- Car parks - horrendous! Apparently people walking in the road on the way back to Stevenage, blocking cars. Pulled out at 2am, back to AirBNB about 3am! Knackered in my old age!
- My mental state - mix of having the time of my life and being overwhelmed (having missed out in 96, this was a BIG deal for me). Teared up a couple of times - during the walk to the arena seeing Knebworth House - something so recognisable to me - seeing LG’s helicopter fly over during Kasabian’s ‘Fire’ - Roll It Over.
- This morning - stiff and knackered. Gigs in my 40s hey! But let’s do it all tonight (perhaps with wellies on as it’s gonna rain!!!)

Bar the queues at the bar the whole thing was brilliant! Chuffed to hear Roll it Over live. Let's hope we get a DVD/CD release.

so glad everyone had a great time. These things really are what memories are made of... and a few getting home troubles are all part and parcel of the adventure!
can anyone confirm that was john squire? I didn't think it sounded like him and those phone vids make it look like someone in disguise taking the piss!

Was John squire , gig fantastic , Liam is in top form and seems to be getting better his new stuff holds up very well.. there was way more than 80,000 there aswell . The bars and stuff couldn’t really cater for the amount of people and everything price wise was crazy, only concern was traffic at end the roads are lethal for people walking , get a taxi tonight if possible.. The event though was brilliant and a lot of mixed age crowd etc great to see , not sure how some folks managed to see the gig though as they were wrecked , Liam though was tops

i went to knebworth last night & it felt monumental for me. 96 knebworth was before i was born but its always been my fav ever gig to watch, so being apart of this was so special. the way it ended with john squire coming out and doing champagne supernova was (& i don't say this often) biblical. seeing the fireworks above us at the end & knowing i was standing in that crowd honestly got me emotional, i haven't felt like that before at a gig. i will look back at last night in my 30s/40s/50s and remember how incredible knebworth 2022 was <3

Wanted to ask, is there any way of accessing the venue from Knebworth station? Or the only solution is to get off at Stevenage station? Train from King’s Cross departing in 20 mins...can’t wait! Thank you for your help!

The scale of the Knebworth site is colossal, it's insane. So many people there yesterday and todays capacity is 5K bigger according to SJM document on the official Knebworth House web-site.
Paolo Nutini was decent enough, good vibe about him and his band.
I have to say, I groaned when Kasabian were announced as main support. They're finished without Tom. They absolutely smashed it yesterday. They just bombarded the place with tune after tune. I thought their reaction from the crowd was actually better than Liam's but they are much heavier than Liam so thats a factor. Fair play to Serge and the boys.
Liam's voice was majestic last night, he's singing better than ever these days. Maybe it helps he's not coming into this off the back of months of touring. Setlist was identical to Manchester. It's not an ideal setlist for these sorts of gigs, he only released Cmon you know last week. It needs better pacing between new songs, established Liam songs and the Oasis monsters.
Roll It Over was just glorious however the best moment of the gig of course... JOHN SQUIRE. Unbelievable. Don't think I'm coming down from this for months.

The day itself was great. I got there at 3:30, good atmosphere, Paolo Nutini was excellent, Kasabian were very good and Liam was brilliant. Roll It Over was a treat and went down so well.
I'm unsure on the crowd, it was just so big that it's hard to tell. I think where i was, the atmosphere was decent - I was to the right of the sound stage, about 100m from the stage. But other parts of it seemed quiet? The front was obviously roudy.
Logisitically, afterwards, it was a nightmare and really badly organised. Surprised nobody got hurt as it was frankly dangerous.

They shut the road to Stevenage because they basically just had thousands of people with nowhere else to go other than on the road. The police were telling us to go that way. Coming out of the venue was hard, thousands of people, no lighting other than by the camp sites. No stewards or police at all until the road. Really wasn't fun. The rest of the day was brilliant and Liam smashed it out of the park.

Btw, heard today from two lads who were there that a fair few people bunked in. Not sure how true it is. I don't think there were only 80k people there yesterday, it seemed a lot, lot more.

I saw loads of people chancing it to get into the campsites. Security to get in seemed pretty standard for these sorts of gigs, including the big green walls, fuck knows how people were bunking in. Unless they were slipping notes to people on the door, most of the staff there yesterday looked like they really didn't want to be there. 80K official capacity for yesterday, 85K today. Anyone know who Liam's third guitarist is? He had longer hair than the 2 regular guys and I assume stepped in for Bonehead?

Yeah and at the end the lack of any personnell at all just was a bit worrying. Like, everyone just wanted to get out and get home, but not having any direction other than those signs wasn't ideal. Feel for people who drove but they shut the road off to make sure people could get back to Stevenage for trains - just wish they'd have told people that before. The lack of communication before the gig really was poor. But the day itself was unbelievable.

Well nobody scanned my ticket as my mate had them on his phone, so they only scanned his. He did say 'I've got two' and they just let me in with him. Could easily have been that. We turned up at 3:30-4ish too so not like it was a mega busy time It was packed enough yesterday with 'officially' 80k. But honestly it seemed more than that... maybe it's just because of how the hill rolls down, it looks like more people

I got there about 5.30 and there were still so many people on their way in. Got through and into the arena and it was rammed. Maybe only AC/DC at Download in 2010 was comparable or Oasis Heaton Park Saturday in 2009 but even then, this seemed BIGGER. I was by relay tower 6, wasn't too far over from Liam but a long way from the front. Decent view but he was tiny.

Sounds similar to the Etihad the other night. They glanced at our printed tickets but didn't scan them on he way in. Then when we got in we walked along the concourse to see if the bar queues were smaller (they weren't) then down through seats onto the pitch and nobody checked whether we actually had standing tickets. Its weird, security has been so tight for every arena gig/show I've been to since the Manchester Arena bombing, but Ed Sheeran is playing the Stadium of Light (my hometown) this weekend and apparently nobody checked tickets there either and people wandered in and down onto the pitch.
