I’m just curious why he put this on the bonus disc. Based on what you said about it, it sounds like a really early demo that’s likely the product of some jamming. I’m guessing he has tons of these little pieces of music so this particular one must bear some special relevance.

Just listening to this now, disapointed it's only a instrumental. Clearly a leftover from high flying birds first album, thw whole kids chattering at the end is very record machine. Wonder was it supposed to fade into Record Machine at one point? Maybe it was supposed to be on DOYS, it fits the groove idea and RM was supposed to be on that album (if you believe Noel, he said Liam didn't bother to record the box) so maybe it was going to lead into RM on there??

Sounds better than any NGHFB song from the last 3 years.

Well the release of this tune is quite a seismic moment in this forums history as we can all now add it to an 'alternative' tracklisting for Dig Out Your Soul!!

Really nice to discover this song was written for DOYS, I was thinking about the keyboards and it sounds very similar to what was the keyboards on that era, not mentioning the bass.

I definitely think this was a song the AA worked on. Sounds right up their alley and what I would expect them to use and expand upon. We should learn more soon.

This song is on the DOYS making of documentary. A small few second excerpt. people thought it was come in its alright at the time. It's about half way through the documentary so its definietly an oasis leftover Good call. If I remember correctly, Noel mentioned he wanted to have a running instrumental track broken up throughout DOYS but abandoned that idea as the sessions continued on. He also had a similar idea for Be Here Now.

International magic was the name of the O2 DVD wasn’t it? yeah, that's why i'm thinking maybe it's an instrumental buried on there possibly? Although Noel has form naming projects after unreleased tracks (e.g. Stop The Clocks) He certainly does - Stop The Clocks compilation, Standing On The Edge Of The Noise tv show and now this, which was first used as the tour name in 2008/9 as seen on passes and itineraries from the time:

Noel's instrumental are not very interesting overall. This is not a surprise.
The bonus tracks are as expected, "alternate versions" made for this release. Yawn.

The beginning of the song is very similar to the demo called "Oh, lord".

Definitely an Oasis leftover like Record Machine and Stop The Clocks, but probably in contention for the first High Flying Birds album.

Quite like this. At the start I was feeling SOTSOG vibes, then it took me to High Flying Birds, then to DOYS but throughout I’m definitely getting the Gas Panic Live outro. It’s a late oasis early NGHFB smoothie.

I really enjoy the song, but I'm listening the whole time wishing it had some lyrics.

I like it even if it is an instrumental and I don't really miss any lyrics to be honest.

He also had a similar idea for Be Here Now. That album is so frustrating to me. It's pretty good but nowhere near as good as it could have been. It was my first new Oasis release as a fan and I was so hyped, but Noel cocked up the track listing and someone was too impatient to wait for Liam to return from his wedding to do vocals on two of the better songs. I love it so much, because it's the first album I ever bought as a 15 year old, but we could have had Four Letter Word, Record Machine, Come On Outside and this song as an intermittent instrumental on it instead of some of the throw away songs. It wouldn't have been a classic, but it could have easily been Oasis' best post 2000's release with more consideration and care. I recognized this song instantly because I watched gold and silver and sunshine like 10 times when I was a kid because I was such an obsessive back then

I haven't watched the Dig Out Your Soul documentary for a very long time. So I didn't realise that this track had already been released as it's very easy to forget.

The link on Noel's official youtube channel doesn't say much in the notes.

Just the main two discs. Nothing on the bonus discs. But I doubt it’s an oasis era track. It’ll have been re-recorded.

It’ll have been re-recorded. I agree it's unlikely that this version was recorded during the Oasis era. Be nice to know when it was done though. Any thoughts? For the moment I'm guessing his first solo album?

Considering this is indeed from DOYS times, could this be Zak playing drums? I know Noel plays pretty much everything on his own on these kind of demos which he probably did here as well. But to me as a drummer myself these drums do not sound like Noel or p.e. Jeremy Stacey. This sounds like Zak imo.
