If this was the start of a new album cycle, wouldn’t Noel have said something on the latest Matt Morgan podcast? Based on prior podcasts, it didn’t seem he was that far along either. Never mentioned final mixing or mastering, and always mentioned “3-4 songs” he’s got. I’m trying to stay optimistic, but I fear this is a stand alone single, or even worse, a video for a song we already have. I'm still hopeful considering all the time he's got to focus on it. He's not touring, he's not on vacation and he got a studio inside his fuckin house. If that alone doesn't speed things up I have no idea what would. I’m still hopeful but the problem is the studio isn’t inside his house. It’s in King’s Cross. I have no idea why he built a studio there right when he was moving out of London. Also, due to coronavirus restrictions he’s now been able to have his band in the studio. X |

I think if Noel really is planning on releasing something new soon then it'll most likely be a new single and I will be surprised if we get a new album any time this year with Covid still around and not be able to tour it. But there must be something in the pipeline other wise he wouldn't have filmed a new video. It could be an EP but why release and waste new songs on one if he's working on a new album unless he's got any other songs laying around which aren't good enough for the album.

I guess like most people have still been working through the pandemic, Noel will still be working. If either of them have something decent to release they may as well. I'm sure there's enough built up demand that their tours will sell well when we finally get to that point

Just because they're shooting a video for a new Noel song doesn't mean the song is finished or even written yet. It's possible Noel and/or Matt Smith have come up with what they think is a good idea for a music video and have used a gap in Matt's schedule to film his scenes in advance now.

Double albooooooooom. If not now, when? It won't be a double album - if Noel wanted to do that he would have held back most of those recent EP tracks to pad it out. Then again, I could actually Noel releasing a double album - with each disc packed to capacity at around 25 mins!! With 6 years of writing since CY and a full disc of tracks left over from his Oasis days he could easily do a double album if he wants to. Ultimately it will be padded out using songs that would’ve been b-sides before the interwebs killed singles. If he does do it, it’ll be a relatively short double. Two vinyl (2 x ~40mins). It won’t be a Drukqs or Mellon Collie. X |

All taken from the last podcast, but he just said he's on schedule compared to what he planned pre-covid, I'm sure if he can get musicians to record soon enough we may hear it at least a year before that |

He actually didn't even say no new album until 2023. He said he had planned to not release an album until 2023 prior to the pandemic, but that he's been writing a lot during the pandemic. That article (and the interview it was based on) literally has no news as to when he will release an album ... But of course it doesn't have to be a full album to be a release needing a video ... he didn't shoot it for no reason, of that you can be sure. |

At best, a one-off single. If you listen to those podcasts, there’s just no way a whole new album cycle is spinning up.
