After a few listens, still not doing much for me. Nice gesture and got me excited again for future material though

Nice tune. If he's popping out these on a regular basis, he should have enough for an album already...

The fact that we wouldn't have got this without the new strain and Tier 4 really sums up the madness of 2020

"Don't be afraid when you're rolling the dice. Life is trip that you don't take twice" Great advice, sung in such a cheery old school Noel way. Really enjoying this. Big grins round are way Thanks Noel.

What is it with Noel trying to capitalize on moments right now? The first was last year when he wrote a Christmas song despite previously stating he despises Christmas and everything to do with it. Then during the first wave of the COVID-19 whilst people were clapping for the NHS he releases an old demo with a chorus of "Don't stop being happy, don't stop your clapping" and releases the Oasis-era version to maximise exposure. And now during the beginning of the vaccination period for COVID-19, whilst everyone is stuck at home for New Year, he released a demo entitled We’re Gonna Get There In the End. Noel would never release demos to unreleased, unfinished songs in the past so why now? Are these timely gifts for people to enjoy during a less happy time in the world? Probably so but the cynical side of me does feel a bit like Noel's manufacture another Don't Look Back In Anger moment ala 2017. Maybe that's unfair and not at all the case but I do get that vibe a bit. I think part of it is the lower than expected quality of the songs that ordinarily I doubt would see release. For me Wandering Star is one of Noel's worst ever and this new one isn't a hell of a lot better (though I do appreciate it is only a demo). Don't Stop... is decent enough but it's been passed over on at least 3 LPs and 3 EPs now so I don't think Noel rates it that highly really.
Edit: Just to be clear as it probably doesn't come across in the post above but I do genuinely appreciate these more regular releases by Noel btw. As you all know Wandering Star was part of the EP releases, which on the whole I did enjoyed, just not so much that song. Oh and I'm as game for a demo as anyone.

The less beholden he is to the "album cycle" the better for all of us.

AMAZING for a demo ! Really reminds me of something bouncy like Dream on or She's electric. Can you just imagine what this would be like if Liam sang on it ?!? Could've fit somewhere around the Morning Glory era

So expectation for a new album ? When ? Before summer or autumn ? When everyone is vaccinated and were actually looking forward to (yet another) NGHFB gig. Then we can get back to the important things in life, like bashing Noels stale setlists.

He's gaining fuck all from this as it's not even a proper release, think he just had time to kill with the new restrictions, and he's always spoken about artists having the duty to put stuff out there when things are not going great to make this a bit of a better place, so it's not exactly out of character As for Wnadering Star, which I don't think it's that bad but each to their own, it's not really a song written FOR Christmas is it? It's just got sleigh bells on it, and I think the video wasn't exactly a Michael Buble kinda thing either, far from the perfect Christmas ideal

Will his management be happy to see him releasing things with a "topical" selling point? No doubt, but I don't think that's Noel's motivation. I'd say he just feels less constrained to all his old musical ideas since working with Holmes and maybe the manner of releasing music is no exception to that. He's very clearly between two projects right now (WBTM and the guitar-driven one) and is probably just freewheeling the tunes that come to him in the meantime a la the EPs.

As for the tune, I can't say it does much for me. Feels too safely in the High Flying Birds wheelhouse - like a mixture of You Know We Can't Go Back and If Love is the Law, but without the feeling of joy that either of those tunes conjure up. Probably right that it stays a demo, even if there are snatches of sweet melodies in there.
