This will probably be a controversial statement but after hearing the demo, my conclusion is that Andrew Wyatt is the hero of the officially released track. It's a given that Liam will sound great, he almost always does. It's nice lyrics and a nice melody but the demo makes the song sound destined to be run of the mill.
The production value on the official version is really good. It actually transforms the song into that Bing Crosby style song. I don't really like that style but he makes it work and it stands out from the catalogue. Unless Simon suggested that approach to Liam and Andrew Wyatt, Wyatt's production is what makes the song stand out.
I think the Simon & Kurstin Liam tracks are great but they are pretty standard Liam. I think the ones that Andrew Wyatt has creative input on are where Liam takes the most left turns (relatively).

The irony is Bonehead wrote and yes sings this demo. Liam was always the front.

That tweet is quite suspect, but given how frontloaded his sales must've been I guess he's telling the truth It's a long way until friday though, so don't bring your hopes up too much as streaming is coming for us
EDIT: Indeed, best selling vinyl of 2020 already Let's hope it's enough for a re-peak

With the volume Christmas songs will produce I'll be amazed if he hits top 30. Although if his tweet is true it's a lot of physical sales.

Yeah I'm quite amazed by all this "Liam for number 1" publicity, I guess it's all good PR but I wouldn't want people to call it a flop if it doesn't happen cos it'd be massively unfair I'd assume that his physical sales combined with the downloads right now are bigger than his first week digital sales, so maybe he can get some traction off that for a new peak

I will be amazed is hes right about that. It's more likely to be 2nd in the physical sales chart id have thought.
It will incorrectly be a called a flop if it goes back in at about 30. It's done really well but the point still stands that an artist like Liam should not be doing scattered releases.

Better than the final version. Still too Ashcrofty for me though. That's like saying my burger has too many pickles

Itβs only Saturday, surely a bit early for the mid week update? Might be #2 on Saturday, but still 5 days to go.

My black vinyl arrived today but I haven't received my other two vinyl versions yet. Mind you,I read in the news yesterday that Royal Mail and other delivery companies are experiencing higher volumes of mail than normal this year due to more people shopping online which is understandable. Anyway, on the demo version I do like it but I'm not sure that it's better than the finished version though.

It would be lovely if Liam did get his first top 5 hit in the singles chart but I guess we'll just have to wait and see just how well the single does do in the charts.

I've just had a quick look at the official singles chart and the song is down to number 60 from yesterday's chart. So I don't know where Liam got number 2 from unless he ment a different chart or something.

This is another chart week, he's #2 counting just yesterday's sales as all the vinyl preorders automatically get taken into account from midnight of the day of release

I know it's the clickbait NME but there is no chance Liam will be anywhere near number one. Even if it was only released yesterday on streaming services rather than a couple of weeks back. The volumes Christmas songs will generate this week will be massive. If Liam breaks the top 30 it would be a very solid effort.
