I did see a random someone on Instagram who claimed to be in the audience when Liam performed (said it was live and done in 3 takes) but could easily be truth or fantasy. Pictures or it didn't happen. Yeah or "mimed live" 3 times to be in perfect synch video/audio. I guess we'll never know. Mate Jesus wept , it’s a live version done in 3 takes he’s got a scarf on then not , the vocals are live ,don’t matter how you treat them ,clyp them together it’s live , I’d argue parts of the backing track were mimed but Liam is singing . Footage is obviously edited together as there’s 3 takes but Liam is singing , you can see vocal chords ,strain . He’s sings these kind of songs in his sleep why you think his albums are slowly filling up with them type of songs?

I know we were all spoiled by Oasis always crashing into the #1 spot or Top 5 but that was a very different era for them and music consumption in general. It’s a young persons game generally.

But surely streams from other streaming sites count in the charts as well. I hope that Liam doesn't drop out of the top 30 or 40 tomorrow.

They do but Spotify is by far the largest most dominating factor. Artists who end up on their pushed playlists naturally get a massive amount of streams. I’m sure a ton of wheel greasing goes on to get into those playlists. Maybe Spotify needs outside regulation? Payola anyone?

Well, the problem with Spotify is that it's got the bigger audience and he's not exactly killing it on Apple Music either (not that it was unexpected), but still let's see, I'm kinda positive

The whole Spotify thing honestly need a total rethink The singles chart is messy but the way they count album sales is even worse imo And that is why more and more artists are releasing 15-30 track “albums” to Spotify to rack up more streams and album units being “counted”. It’s such a farce.

He needs a contemporary pr campaign, the demographic of The One Show and Jonathan Ross etc probably aren’t those who buy or stream records and that approach is dated. A totally fresh outlook is what’s needed if he wants to successfully chart, I’m not sure if the charts are that important though.

I always tend to use Amazon music.

I don't know what the audience figers are for other streaming services. I do know that Amazon music is pushing the boundaries these days by offering HD streaming services. Anyway like you say we'll just have to wait and see tomorrow where Liam ends up in the charts.

Thanks. Hoping he beats his own records. We might find out slightly before, around 5 they often give a summary on the official UK charts website, so they might say where hes charted then.

ok, we can draw the line at britney spears mate, just find another hobby. Enough already. This is beyond of having another "discussion" about a subject, you just enjoy annoying everyone Well, I know there are dynamics that develop long-term over forums, and I won't comment on any of that, since I'm newish. But I will say that Andy Morris has been, in this conversation, respectful, funny, responsive and self-aware, all pretty nice things in the wilds of fan forums. Seen many uglier threads, that's for sure. This one has mostly been in good cheer, with a few exceptions. That said, I wonder if a solution for future is to put such posts in their own folder. A “controversies” folder or something. That way people who are highly annoyed can skip them. This particular topic is not just here, I'm afraid. It’s rampant on social media, so it's not like someone is just mining a grudge ... but maybe they're miming a grudge!
