To me it鈥檚 quite clearly a live take. What Leron posted pretty much confirms it for me. What are your thoughts on the Shazam match? Someone has already shown that it can match from live performance with Noel鈥檚 Wandering Star from Jools Holland? It would lead you to believe there are many more like it. I think someone suggested it Noel might have mimed it on Jools, I鈥檇 be surprised, in the UK that would be something close to professional suicide. It goes against the whole ethos of the show. To me this just confirms what I thought after my initial reaction. It鈥檚 just a great vocal from man who has taken live performance much more seriously over the last 3 1/2 years.

It's down to number two today on the Amazon sales chart. Marah Kerry is at number one.

Yeah, I think the Ross version is legit having analysed them closer.
The next question is what the hell that ghostly background noise is on the studio/Ross backing track that makes itself heard every now and then? Most noticably from 2:18 to 2:20, and 3:12 on the Spotify stream.

How鈥檚 it performing on the charts so far ? Going super strong on downloads, not as well on streaming services but compared to similar artists he's holding his own (he's in the 150-200 range) Sitting at #12 in yesterday's chart update, we're getting nothing today but new info may come out tomorrow I assume it'll slide a bit more but hopefully it can stay in the top 40 He should release the video ASAP to keep the momentum going

I know I told that I wouldn't comment on this topic again but it's getting ridicoulus so I hope that this will end this discussion once for all. Totally different melody: studio version: he goes up live version: he sang it in a flat way clyp.it/vs0r1got?token=c574daf82bc2f184d1049c5a3776e3c0As i said earlier, the Ross version has been stripped off a lot of effects on his voice sped up and maybe pitched a little, to give it a more "live" feel. So it's possible that vocals corrections, whatever they were, were also removed. Listen to the flow of the sung lyric, it's exactly the same. Dont pay attention to tone or notes, but the flow, the pace. Are you on here as a wind up?? Seriously talking utter shite , it鈥檚 a live take over a backing track , the studio mix as been done to a good standard you can clearly see he鈥檚 singing , the radio 2 version is a quality live take aswell , he sings these songs with ease . Charting utter garbage

Okay, after a bit deeper analysis, there are some differences. the "And" is not in both versions and i'm willing to admit that this is not, maybe, the final version of the released track. But a version reworked with added / removed bits from the studio takes. However, i had a little fun with it this morning and took some key moments, that sounded the same. I'll let you tell me which version is which. You gotta listen to it on headphones as i panned one version on the left ear, the other one on the right ear. Ross on left or right ? Studio on left or Right ? I'll post the screen grab later for the answer. Also i couldnt get the exact speed from both version so there is a little delay sometimes, but to me, that doesn't change the fact that they are both from the same recordings, session, whatever. clyp.it/g02va1qf?token=4f091bacb33f2dfe9520ca77db88d0c7Now the engineer who managed to get the same mic sound and the same performance from Liam, both on the studio version and the live from Ross, weeks apart well, he's a genius. Still doesnt take away the fact that is is a great performance done in a studio, probably in only a few takes. Cheers.

Liam said on the radio that the vocal used on the single was done in his boxer shorts at home and the vocals done at Abbey Road earlier were "binned" because he wasn't happy with them. So you'll have to work that into your theory.

Do you guys think that was actually Billy Corgan singing on Jimmy Fallon last night or was it an actual pumpkin doing the vocals?

What I can say is, it's not to the version that's on the single. In the very comparison you've just posted, Liam isn't perfectly in sync, and he sounds noticeably thinner/snarliier in his voice towards the end of each line. If he has sung it live, I'm sure it was a couple of takes and touched up afterwards, but even so it was a pretty phenomenal take IF it was live. I think we're all going too far down the rabbit hole here. Or maybe not far enough?

I'll explain to you: It is the same vocalist. That's why they sound like they sound. Please, let it go. PLEASE
