What the fuck is going on in here? We got people hating that Liam has a songwriting team, we got people who don’t think he can sing anymore. We got others that think this performance was a Frankenstein. We got others commenting on neck fashion. At this point is Liam just an avatar for peoples “Id”? there's always something to bitch about behind a screen some people just can't give it a rest

Waiting for info on the overall chart but it's not sure we're getting anything today

It's not live4ever if it doesn't eventually devolve into petty arguing. I've certainly contributed my fair share over the years.

Look, about this debate, simple: Shazam the Jonathan Ross live and the studio version when Liam is singing, both work and are recognized by the app, which doesn't work on live music.
Then try the one at the BBC radio 2 which was apparently live take, and it doesn't find the song.

Both are live vocals both are polished up for promo purposes and by that I don’t mean auto tune just so it sounds polished , you can tell it’s live

But couldn't it also be that the live version isn't in the Shazam database yet? But the actual song is? And it's giving the closest match.

But the vocals seems to be live, they sound vastly different to the other two. As i said, from what i could find on the Shazam FAQ, they dont show results for live songs unreleased. Maybe that has changed, but last time i heard about them, they said they didnt give results for random live tracks. I dont know how shazam work exactly but they give results on studio / released tracks as far as i'm aware. So for a live track to work, it would need to be released officially i guess. Like live by the sea or Wembley 200.

I shazam random songs from Bee Gees One Night Only and it matched it every time within 5 seconds. So it definitely shows live results, if those results were officially recorded at least.

Shazam can find a song, even live performance if it was officially released (even just for YouTube)

So I guess the question is, if a recent performance hasn't been uploaded into Shazam database and that specific performance can't be identified, does it then default to the studio recorded song?

I would say no, since it has not been released. As proven by the BBC live take. It's not 100% accurate, though. But i tried 5 times each, and it worked everytime : Ross = studio version =/= BBC Live

Liam has given some great live performance lately. I remember the one with Once and Champagne Supernova, was it last year ? He's definitely gotten better, i'm not denying that. Just this one particular bugged me, hard.

Hello and AYDO which were played on BBC, are not released officially (for now at least), ppl just ripped it. That’s why music ripped from radio isn’t banned for uploading here on the forum

It was released, on YouTube. A release on youtube by an official channel is not automatically an "official" release. It's uploaded by the TV channel and is not considered a commercial song just like that. It's the property of the TV station, Shazam work with labels. Only songs released by the artist's label are "commercially" released songs.

I just shazamed Noel’s Wandering Star Jools Holland performance. Try it if you don’t believe me Damn Of course this is not 100% accurate. The only method would be to analyze the audio spectrum of each track. PS: im glad we can discuss this calmy, this is fun.

Unless that Noel performance isn't live either. I am now questioning it listening closely. They sound almost identical, just lacking the reverb in the live.

Did Noel or Liam ever exist in the first place? Or was it stock images for band posters and low low lighting at live gigs?
