Sounds like the sorta song that's been workshopped for the winner of the X-Factor - 3/10
Edit: Just seen the above post - Coincidence? I think not.

I really don't get all these "it sounds like xfactor/take that..." tbh What does it even mean? It's a Christmas tune, it can't sound like cigs and alcohol And I'm not saying that you must like it..

I’m now looking forward to seeing how it works Live on Jonathon Ross and then The River Thames
I think he’ll nail it personally. Without noisy guitars and heavy drums he always sings rather than shouting

It sounds like an X-Factor song, and not in a good way. Really really bland what a letdown. Let’s face it, this post ^ is right on the money. It’s nice. It’s harmless. It’s very “industry”.

On first listen it's a nice tune, a bit cheesy of course as are all Christmas songs, but I like the arrangement. A very unlikely style for Liam, I sure wouldn't've expected him to ever tackle the Xmas genre, even less in such a retro, romantic style! He's broadening his musical horizons. I wonder how it sounds live on the barge played by his rock band!

Paint the night sky, while the morning waits with a field of stars, to keep the dark at bay Take your spotlight underneath the moon, Sometimes a miracle is all that can carry you Oh what are you dreaming of Is it the kind of love that'll be there when the world is at it's worst that'll cover you in kisses unrehearsed when you losing ground still tell you that you're worth, all you're dreaming of Shut the pain birds (?), come and rest their wings upon your windowsill without a song to sing Close your eyes and disappear inside All that is beautiful was following behind Oh what are you dreaming of Is it the kind of love that'll be there when the world is at it's worst that'll cover you in kisses unrehearsed when you losing ground still tell you that you're worth, all you're dreaming of all you're dreaming of all you're dreaming of Oh what are you dreaming of Is it the kind of love that'll be there when the world is at it's worst that'll cover you in kisses unrehearsed when you losing ground still tell you that you're worth, all you're dreaming of I love those lyrics they're beautiful. I can't wait until midnight so I can listen to the song myself. Not too long to go now.

It's nice but have to say.... I am Not Sure If it will sound good live. Liam tends to shout, which works with some Tender songs but this one is so reduced that every weird sounding note will stick out. Lovely stand alone Song and I am grateful for every single Note I hear Liam sing, but I hope his next album sounds different. As a charity Song its brilliant.

Haven't heard it yet, but I'm already in for a disappointment if half the thread thinks it sounds like cigs and alc and the other half thinks it sounds like proper x-factor.

It’s such a beautiful song that’s full of hope, honestly this will resonate with so many people especially after this awful year, to me it’s an emotional song but contains hope, lyrics are so good, music absolutely suits the lyrics & liams vocals are top notch, as long as it makes loads of £££ for the kids then that’s all that matters

We have to think as Liam Gallagher as new artist. The one from Oasis is gone. With that in mind its enjoyable, like going from the Beatles to the monkeys. Its not like that Liam will change our World now, i guess what’s left is to play his solo records a few Times a year then move on...

Is it me or are Liam's vocals far too loud in the mix? They sound proper maxed out and are on the verge of distorting to me.
Maybe it's just the recording on YouTube but it's certainly not easy on the ears.

Best bit for me is the bit around 2:35 which is the closest thing to a chorus. Feel like they should have repeated this a couple of times at least as it's really beautiful. Feels like the song's a bit too 'wordy'.

Counterpoint: Liam is the same, he just doesn't currently perform new Noel Gallagher songs.

I like it. Brilliant vocal but not much of a chorus and the chorus should have came in a lot sooner but it’s still a nice song.Great to see liam doing well as a solo artist but sadly it’s come at a price. He’s now liam Gallagher the pop star not liam Gallagher the rock star. He’s still the same liam the way he dresses etc but the songs that are wrote for him are largely pop i feel now. That why i much preferred his first album to his second. The first wasn’t a pop album. The second album for me was a bit soft in places.

First listen:
That slow as fuck tempo is torture.
This is cringe as fuck. Sorry, Liam.
Reminds me of the shit on that last Arctic Monkeys album. Dire.

The bagpipe solo is really great. Didn't hear a Bagpipe solo It's only on the promo radio remix/edit.

It sounds like an X-Factor song, and not in a good way. Really really bland what a letdown. Gary Barlow and X Factor are good comparisons definitely. And Liam's vocals are good in this technically but I just don't think his voice suits these types of songs even on recording. It's hard to listen to at times like FWIW's chorus.
