Didn't hear a Bagpipe solo It's only on the promo radio remix/edit. someone confirmed it was the demo. they recorded the whole thing with the band but at the last minute they went for the stripped down version for x-mas single

I probably won’t listen to this song five more times the rest of my life. If he’s on point live, I think it will be better because there will be some power in his voice, but in my opinion, this is too flat/nasally and the melody is boring.

If they're different do they both have the bagpipes?

First listen: That slow as fuck tempo is torture. This is cringe as fuck. Sorry, Liam. Reminds me of the shit on that last Arctic Monkeys album. Dire. this song is so bad to you and i know where you're coming from its as if it was wrote by trump

People here saying it sounds like X factor and take that/Gary Barlow etc. I don’t get that - I get this vibe from it:
I song I’ve always liked.

Well it's past midnight in my country now. Beautiful song! I like that it has that Christmassy feeling without lyrics about Christmas or jingle bells.
Liam has that big rock voice, but can sing ballads so well too.
The charity must be happy with this song.

As it's midnight here and I'm not 100% sober I relistened to it (also to stream it properly, it's for a good cause)
I love the lyrics and think it may be Liam's best vocal performance in quite a while, also like the horns quite a lot What I said this morning still stands though, it's a bit too slow and christmassy for my liking and I would have liked some other stylistical choices (a subtle rhythm section and an instrumental break would've made it for me), the melody is alright but not strong enough to sustain this kind of arrangement Don't think I'll come back to it much, but it'll go down well and as a standalone single it's not doing any harm

True - but I think even the Beatles songs I consider to be in the "lower rank" of their catalogue are still generally better than the songs of most other artists.

Just my opinion...but I think The Beatles produced a lot of crap. The song quoted isn’t particularly crap - it’s just not the kind of material I’d offer up to dismiss X Factor criticisms or to suggest this new offering from Liam has whatever quality going for it. Liam’s is better than that Beatles offering in fact IMO. This is a nice tune, I’ll probably notice it when it’s played in the Vic on an episode of Eastenders. But no more than that.

Well, I've listened to this new song on repeat a few times now and I do like it. It's a beautiful song and perfect for Christmas. I hope it does well for Liam and raises lots of money for the charity it's supporting. The song sounds nothing like an X Factor or Robbie Williams song. What do you expect some rock song?

I’m talentless, but if it were me, I would have saved one of the bonus tracks from WMWN for this Xmas. The “Misunderstood” melody with some Christmas cheer, and there you go. Big hit. Invisible Sun, sexiest song ever, and I’m roasting chestnuts on an open fire. Glimmer...well...nvm.

Imagine Invisible Sun as a Xmas single. 😍
Throw some bells in there somewhere.

It just sounds like someone trying to write an Oasis/Liam ballad. I like it more than FWIW but it's got nothing on Once which seems more genuine. It's a nice enough song and it's cool he's given us a stand-alone single. I was hoping for something special though or at least as good as One of Us.
The melody line of 'what have" in the chorus reminds me of the start of Best Days by Blur.
