How cool would it be if Liam ends with the week with the #1 & #2 albums? Even scoring #3 (where River Thames is at now) is impressive. I think it's awesome how LG released both albums simultaneously & right before the Knebworth gigs. I'm indifferent about the COYK album cover, but it's interesting how it's a shot of Liam with a thrilled audience. My takeaway is that the live Liam experience is the greater selling point. I like to overthink stuff. It would be great but I doubt a 1,2 will happen. Most of the sales from the live album would have been physical so I can't see the streaming numbers being enough to get into 2nd. Plus it's not visible on Spotify unless you go into Liam's full release list. |

Ordered the Japan version last night, comes with a bonus of some kind (not music) on CD Japan, there’s only a few of the first pressing left on there if anyone is interested, then they won’t give the bonus item out with it afterwards.

Bought the CD with CMYK. Really nice live album. Liam sounds great, the arrangements are creative enough and the song selection is good. Maybe some more ballad had been nice.

This still needs a blu-ray and dvd video release. Why not at this point. This was my favorite concert ever. Including all live performances by great live musicians I listen to. And I listen to nothing but great musicians.

Plus Noel borrowed from several musicians/songwriters himself sometimes like with Don't go away used quite a bit of other songs. I'm not saying these things to argue. I'm trying to understand how he could prevent the releases.

I'm trying to understand how he could prevent the releases. it's been debated in depth several times on here over the last few years. Basically comes down to the the type of license needed. For an audio release it's automatic and Noel cant stop it,he just collects his due royalties. A visual release needs a different type of license which requires approval from Noel, which he refuses to give. That's why Liam hasn't been able to release any of his gigs on DVD so far. No doubt Liams team have several ready to go but will only be able to release them if relations improve with Noel to the point where he give his consent or he sells the rights to the Oasis back catalogue. |

Interesting reply. Thank you. That is something I have never heard of. I would have thought a musician couldn't really stop anyone from covering their songs. I do understand say the Stones stopping Trump from playing their music/song at rallies. Not sure why the visuals which were spectacular and had nothing to do with Noel would be stopped. Noel must have given some type of permission for the audio cd from the Thames concert. Noel wrote some of the songs and must have received royalties for the songs he wrote. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Down_by_the_River_Thames The live Thames album/cd label according to wiki was Warner. I guess Liam is a Warner artist. Noel, I guess owns his own label Sour Mash. Looking at the credits it seems it was a forest of black production. forestofblack.co.uk/about/Credits also show it as a melodyvr production. Who owns the rights is somewhat questionable I guess. In my opinion I never knew the London skyline was so beautiful. I am in the US and in NYC until mid 2002. I loved the photography in the Thames concert. once again thank you mancraider |
