I would disagree with the people who say that it didn't age well. DBTT is kind of weird in today's musical landscape, but I'd even argue that back then in 2005 it didn't really belong in the mainstream.
DBTT flows very well compared to other Oasis albums in my opinion. I'd often start the album and listen to it from start to finish. TUTS gets me pumped for the album, Mucky Fingers gets too much shit, the singles are very good, Love Like a Bomb and Guess God Thinks I'm Abel are cute.
It's curious that a lot of unreleased Noel songs from that time were released on his first solo album. Those songs must have been much more closer to completion back then than we think. Would Don't Stop also fit in that era as well? Funny though how Noel basically released the same album 6 years later and it sold really really well.

I would say half of it aged well and still sounds great like Lyla, TIOBI, POTQ, MF, GGTIA..., on the other hand there are some songs which needed better production, Love Like a Bomb needed better vocals, The Meaning of Soul lacked punch (real drums > cereal box) and KTDA is a mess. I know Noel produced some songs and they all sound great imo, later Sardy took over and the songs he produced sounded rushed, like they needed more time to polishment.

I guess that's a whole other conversation, but these songs were in a completely different spectrum from "I wonder what a post Oasis Noel Gallagher would sounds like". Which makes them less special in that context. However, I do genuinely believe that these songs are much better than A Bell Will Ring or Let There Be Love.

That seems to be a running theme looking back on DBTT.........better vocal takes. Love Like A Bomb, The Meaning of Soul and Keep The Dream Alive.

It was the first Oasis album that i bought on release date. For that alone it would always have a special place in my heart. I remember that i had to pre-order the album on my local record store, because normally didn't have stock on the first day of release. Going to the record store after school (i was in high school), picking up the deluxe version, listening on my CD player and reading the lyrics. Turn Up The Sun comes up and i thought it was massive. I liked pretty much every song on my first listen (the enthusiasm!). I distinctly remember that "Part of the Queue" was my favorite track. You're basically describing my own personal experience word for word! I got into them when Lyla came out, I was 14, bought DBTT when it came out, quickly picked up the albums, then spent the next weeks/ months slowly picking up the CD singles and being blown away by all the b-sides. The summer of 2005 was massive for me! DBTT is easily my favourite 00s Oasis album.

A handful of us on here made agreement that we wouldn't listen to leak back in time. After all, there was only a few left who waited until the release date including me.
On one morning I woke up with pm's telling me that some songs has been leaked while I was sleeping and if I needed the link. I kindly refused. Lyla from Polish radio was the only song I heard until the album came out.

Sometimes stores depending on the band or if many bands were dropping albums on the same day they would open at midnight. So much fun. Everyone listening to all the music at the same time. No spoilers. But that has now died. Unfortunately I know recognize "leak" day as that communal experience. Which it wasn't the case but for me it is now.

dunno where to put this as theres some info on demos recorded in Australia but here's a copy/paste from a very old post by webby
THE HAMILTON SPECTATOR Canada November 24th, 2002
---As for the new album, several demos have already been recorded Gallagher says. "The rest of the lads went into the studio recently in Australia to do some new b-sides, and they also recorded about five or six demos while they were at it," Gallagher explained. Along with the new material from the Australian sessions, Gallagher also has some classic Oasis tunes he's been working on himself. "I have a few really good songs that I wrote shortly after we finished recording the last album."------

Noel is def referring to songs like Don't Be Down, The Magic Can't Be Right, Record Machine and Stop The Clocks.

Brilliant summer album, fresh sound for the band and kept the form from heathen chemistry .Stepped up when new bands were coming through and shown them they were still about , big seller aswell ..production basic but good ..good solid album of songs ..how can folks say keep the dream alive is a mess ?? It’s a basic produced song and is a cracking tune I don’t think the album was Liam’s best but it’s still a strong vocal

His voice is pushed too much to the forefront at the start. It sounds much better once the chorus hits and it’s mixed in with all the instruments. It’s got a good guitar solo. Shame they never attempted it live for that tour.

It really doesn't seen just over 15 years since that album was released. It's crazy how time flies. I haven't listened to it in full for a while but I do like it even though it has one or two weaker songs on it like A Bell Will Ring for example

And to think Oasis was only around for 14 years. Wild.

DBTT's a good album. I like how consistent it is after the two previous albums were wildly inconsistent. The songs on it are good too. The Meaning of Soul and A Bell Will Ring (and Keep the Dream Alive's "La la la" chorus near the end) stick out as sore thumbs, but even TMOS is fun and ABWR has a good riff. Still wish Eyeball Tickler would've replaced TMOS, Lord Don't Slow Me Down (Liam vocals) would've replaced ABWR, and KTDA would've gone from the solo straight to the outro, but DBTT is a fun listen that brings back good memories of listening it to the first time when it was summertime.

While I consider DBTT to be a great rock album, for an Oasis album I'd only rate it as pretty good. For me, DBTT falls short of the standards the band set with their previous albums.
Despite Liam's vocal issues, I agree with others that the DBTT Tour was great because of its fun positive atmosphere, and the band seemed to be in a good mood.
