I saw a screenshot of comments below Matt Morgan's latest podcast saying Noel claimed he had covid before? Can anybody subscribed to confirm it?? Just curious... He mentioned it in the last one he did yes, didn't say more though, just that he's had it Yeah I just subscribed and heard it. Hope there would not be any long-term effects for him.

Most recent podcast is up, usual funny chat, bit of album info:
He says the album is very "string heavy" in contrast to WBTM, which was a conscious decision. 6 of the songs have strings on them, according to Noel.
Johnny Marr plays on 4 or 5 songs on the album.
Mentioned new song "Dead To The World", described as very orchestral and very "midnight cowboy".
Also mentioned a song called "Pretty Boy", which Johnny Marr plays on, sounds "Astonishing".
Slightly unrelated, but he said he'll probably put the "Mind Games" cover out NEXT record store day (i.e. 2023......)
Also mentioned that he doesn't like "The Mexican" or "Stop The Clocks" anymore.

Orchestral, okay.
Hopefully using them from a new angle and not just Debut Pt.2 to appeal to those who didn't like WBTM.

Hopefully it isn’t mid tempo strings. When strings aren’t done right they become cliche and a crutch. We shall see! Glad Noel has joined the rank and file on Stop The Clocks. His most hyped song of all time. I still wanna hear all the various versions recorded for DBTT. Could be it’s own EP for a future record store day.

I hope he wouldn't overproduce this album with strings! I remember he said if he knew how Sail On was loved by fans, he wouldn't release the current version. Tbh I can't imagine what song Sail On would have been if he added more parts like strings to complete. It would only make this song too exaggerated and boring.

String heavy, eh? Was expecting more the opposite. Maybe he’s gone Full Bacharach after all. Get excited andymorris!

Looking forward to a year-long, hostile debate on “strings”

Strings can be good, if done right. Hoping for not We're on our Way now and more Flying on the Ground kind of song or Whatever kind of string. Something fun and not too sirupy. Bacharach done right. It can hit or miss. But it seems Noel is taking his time on this one, he probably doesnt want to miss his 60s Austin Powers album.

Makes you wonder why he liked The Mexican in the first place.
It's a weak tune and it made the AA go crazy for songwriting credits. He should have binned it.
Stop The Clocks should have been a bside during DBTT too.

Great news..! I'm all in for strings and orchestra.
I'm surprised by Johnny Marr playing in 4 or 5 tunes. That practically makes him the official guitarist for the HBF

Great song, one of my favourites. Always loved the Last Shadow Puppets. Ian Brown's album The World Is Yours is another example of strings done right

Would love to hear something like that in terms of strings. Noel in full whimsical mode.

The guilt of his theft is finally getting to him. He only shoehorned that godawful crack line in to deprive the AA of their writing credit. Their original lyric ended that line with “aphrodisiac”, which was too sexy for him. X

Good stuff. He previously described Pretty Boy as “electro-punk” and sounding like The Cure / Magazine.

Seeing a lot of newspaper sites picking up on Noel commenting about Liam's weight and voice again on this podcast.
I do find it ironic that Noel and his wife gave this opinion Liam now bullies Noel alongside Paul and the two kids, yet him and his wife at the age of about 55 have both said petulant shit about Liams weight.
He can also try rewriting history as much as he wants when it comes to the songwriting post 1997. Keep blaming it on Liam if you want, but even the most casual Oasis fans know you just lost your way. Nothing wrong with that, but don't try and blame anyone else.

The comment on his weight was very, very tame and offhand, and the voice comment wasn’t even really an insult, he was merely saying that he was writing for Liams voice, and that it felt restrictive after a while. Even in Liams peak there was still only a certain range of notes he could hit, so I think it was more around that.

But Liam sees all these types of comments and you keep baiting him and you'll get a much more public, explosive clash like we did when Liam reacted to Sarah's instagram comments. I'm not condoning him messaging Anais in the slightest, but we know he'll react to this type of thing. Throughout Oasis Noel would often put down all the rest of the band and useless and openly admit he plays Liam like a videogame or words to that affect. Making mocking comments on your mates podcast because your other brother is more successful is exactly the type of shit we'd have battered on here if Liam did it in Beady Eye.

I'm tired of repeating this at this point, but honestly if you listen to the whole thing you'd notice how inoffensive it all is They're just two mates talking, stuff comes out, it's not that big of a deal Listeners are aware of the context, can pick up the tone etc If he has to start censoring himself even on the stupidest little thing just because Liam may get offended reading what's written in the Daily Star it would be all so boring

But a joke about Liam's weight isn't open for interpretation in my opinion.
