Found the playlist - so supposedly this is favourite songs from each of the included artists: Really? I'm not a subscriber of Matt's podcast so don't know whether it's true or false. Never know Noel's a fan for The Style Council's My Ever Changing Moods!

Yeah, this is the songs he said in the podcast Thanks! As a huge NG & TSC fan, I always want to hear more about Noel's opinions on TSC. Wondering if HFB to him is the same meaning as TSC to Paul Weller...

Wondering if HFB to him is the same meaning as TSC to Paul Weller... Noel's still got some way to go before completing the u-turn like Weller did with Style Council. Not saying that it should sound like them, just saying that in terms of stylistic shifts, The Jam to The Style Council is completely unrecognisable. I'm no Weller aficionado but The Style Council must be the most underrated band ever. I love their vibe.

I'd like something really pounding and heavy from Noel (heavy beats ala Fort Knox), not some meandering psychedelic stuff. The Style Council were a good band and yes, very underrated. Their best songs for me are Long Hot Summer and Speak Like A Child.

Which means, in a few albums time, we should get a back-to-basics Noel album with amazing songs and tonnes of guitar and classic songwriting like when Weller started HIS solo stuff

Is there a list of episodes on the MM podcast with Noel? I know it's usually advertised, just wondering if anyone has complied a list. Also, do downloaded podcasts stay available to listen after a Patreon sub has lapsed? Asking for a friend

www.stopcryingyourheartout.co.uk/2022/03/noel-gallagher-claims-hell-get-involved.htmlNoel Gallagher claims he'll 'get involved' in WW3 and 'shoot anything that moves.' The Oasis songwriter (54) has declared he's ready to fight with guns if there's a third world war and take post on his roof. He said during appearance on Matt Morgan's podcast: "If there was an invasion here you'd have to get involved. I haven't got any long-range weapons at my disposal but I could probably get a gun. I'd get out to Hampshire and I know a few people out there with shotguns and sub-machine guns. I would get out to Hampshire, I would access to the roof and before that I would order a load of telescopic stuff from Amazon, camouflage gear, a flask, some warm weather long johns and sit on the roof and listen to the radio and shoot anything that fucking moved. My roof is a bit higgledy-piggledy it's not like a helipad and my house is on a hill so I can see for fucking miles. There's a guy who lives near me who is part of an armed police unit, I would just say, 'You got any of those guns that you were showing me that day?' I was out for a walk with my two lads and two coppers were parked up with an armed police vehicle and they were like, 'No way, Noel Gallagher.' We were chatting away and they were like, 'Do the lads want to see some guns?' They opened the back and fuck me man they had an arsenal in there, like, really. Stuff that you just look at and think, 'I won't even bother picking that up, I just know that could blast trees out of the ground, that thing.'" He added that he's hoping things won't escalate that far as the world has already had to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic, which is still ongoing: "We've just had COVID restrictions thrown out of the door and now, 'Oh, there's going to be a war is there? Nice one. Fucking hell.' Can we not have Glastonbury first and then go to war?' The fact that both sides have access to all the nuclear weapons then there isn't going to be war because nobody is that fucking stupid because everybody get annihilated. People have been saying for years that Putin is dangerous. This is what Russia do all the time, they try it on and then the West are lily-livered. The penises running the government these days need to grow a pair.'"

Anyway, here's a picture of Noel and his wife attending Evgeny Lebvedev's birthday party a couple years back...

I'm sure this was taken out of context and all that but sometimes I think Matt Morgan is cleverly trying to make Noel as much an irrelevant caricature as possible. Who could possibly think anyone wants to hear the boyish war fantasies of an excessively rich man in his mansion at a time when children are being savagely murdered? Add the Lebvedev stuff to that and just yikes. Truly hope Noel is quietly making a large donation to Ukrainian refugees.

I don’t think it’s anything like that. If you listen to the podcasts regularly, it’s clear that Noel and Matt are very good friends, and the chats they have on the podcast are very “fly on the wall”.. It’s one of the most interesting things about the podcast actually, it’s absolutely nothing like Noel’s normal interviews, it’s very honest and unfiltered chat between two good friends who clearly do not give a fuck, they talk about all sorts of stuff between current events and Noel’s stuff, usually accompanies by fan questions at the end, but even then Noel’s answers are much more blunt, funny and unfiltered compared to traditional interviews. There’s a whole lot of brilliant dark humour which you never hear from him anywhere else. Stuff like Covid and the war etc has come up regularly in the podcasts but to be honest I’d rather hear what he actually thinks instead of some bullshit “press-friendly” nonsense. I don’t necessarily agree with a lot of what he says but have respect for him not pandering to what the world thinks he “should” say. But at the same time it shouldn’t be taken overly seriously because it is simply two guys shooting the shit. Also it’s nothing like those Matt Morgan + Noel videos on his FB, much more uncensored and unrestricted than that. Put it this way, if you are down the pub with close friends, there’s plenty of stuff you say in their company that you wouldn’t say to the general public (I’m not talking bad stuff, just risqué or dark humour), that’s what these podcasts are full of, and it’s brilliant.

I don't think it's that. I think this is very much two mates (most of the time drunk during lockdown) just having a chat. I think Matt Morgan is grateful to have Noel do this for him because it's one of the biggest interviewees in rock giving his opinion directly to his podcast. This has inevitably made Morgan realise getting these articles from his questions will only add more interest in the podcast. That said i agree with you that this isn't helping Noel. They're taking things very much out of context and it isn't a good look for Noel. I think he's actyally become a lot more light hearted and seemingly happier in the past 12 months but this kind of laddish humour doesn't go down like it did in the Britpop heyday. That said, he's kind of in the Piers Morgan kind of status where he's got enough money and status to say what he likes without 'cancel culture' having any kind of affect.

I’ve heard a few of the podcasts but am not a subscriber. I completely get the concept – that it’s getting Noel to chat freely on a wide range of topics … and voila, fun and clever things will come out. It’s intended, simultaneously, to keep Matt in clover and Noel in the news cycle while throwing the fans some sweet, candid tidbits. And that’s all completely fine as it goes.
My point though is that it does Noel a disservice to prompt him to rant from the supreme safety of his plush sofa about something as horrific as an invasive war. There’s no need to go there except to create a distracting “controversy” … which is fine if it’s about Liam or what chocolate he likes or that time he hung out with Michael Fassbender … but what good is Noel yammering on unseriously about shooting people doing in the world at this grave moment? Even he can’t think it comes off as cool the way it reads in the press.
My other point is that they can’t (and don’t, not if they’re being honest) pretend that it’s just two guys shooting the shit. It is a product for sale (and also a for-profit form of broadcast media). They 100% know that what is said on the podcast will be picked up by the papers, and they absolutely use that when it’s to Noel’s advantage. Also saying “don’t take it seriously” is fine when it’s about entertainment but doesn’t sound great when civilians are being slaughtered and starved. Some things in the world, like say, war crimes, might be absurd but they’re never light. That’s the part I don’t think they’re getting. There are always limits on what they talk about, anyway, much as you may think there are not. Noel doesn’t tell Matt all kinds of intimate details about his family life in order to protect his privacy. He does draw limits...and can draw limits.
Anyway, I stand by my hope that with all his money that if Noel cares at all about what his acquaintance Lebvedev and others have wrought, he’ll donate to help people running for their lives. He doesn’t have to make a noise about it. Just do it.

Not too worried about Noel being cancelled. This isn’t that kind of thing. He just comes off as an embarrassing crank. And sure, like Piers, he can maintain that image no problem if that's what he wants and some will love it (as some obviously do). So it goes. Even Eric Clapton still has fans who idolize him.
But ... as I'm not so sure this image really is what he wants if he thinks about it harder, I'd like to point out that there's no need for it. Matt can still make a living off Noel even without that shit.

To be fair though, this was not a rant Most of it was part of a bigger conversation which, as you can imagine, was tongue-in-cheek
