While I loved the demo and thought it would have definitely added to DOYS, I couldn’t see the lead single appeal to it.
However, with this new touched up version I can easily have seen a Liam vox version doing this song wonders. Again, never should have split....

I've never understood this either. One of my favourite B sides. The remixes of ot kick ass too I'm always surprised when people don't like that tune as well. Great song. it's a good song but the soundchecked version offered much more, I always imagined a Neil Young type or even Champagne Supernova guitar solo to lift it |

Not a fan of the final version having no fade out either.
Why do songs never have fade outs anymore? I don't like the feeling of songs just grinding to a halt, taking all the tension away while the fade outs maintain the euphoria. When it's rolling chords like Some Might Say, Columbia or that riff from the demo on Come On Outside, these are prime tunes for fade outs.

That's one of my newest(ly released!) favorite Noel songs, I especially love the beginning of the chorus, right from "the voices in your head", the way he stretches loud, cow and down. Now that would also make a great album title, "Loud cow down".  |
