Back of the sofa, socks drawer... All the unreleased stuff that would make an Oasis fan's dream Anthology is scattered in Noel's furniture. Just imagine what is in Sara’s knicker drawer. X The songs on NGHFB 1 sung by Liam, & possibly some fancy underwear but that's not what we're after, you kinky perv!

Someone might have mentioned it already, but Liam is saying (on instagram) he recorded a version of this. Where? oasismaniaofficial's account (only reason I sometimes check their account is to see if Liam has been leaving comments) "He should of put the version out with my vocals on its miles better" "I did a version yeah"

I totally believe Liam on this one. We know it was recorded at Abbey Road along with the rest of DOYS in late 2007. We know (according to Noel) it was going to be the lead single off DOYS until Noel wrote TSOTL mid session. We know the band was doing all the vocal takes in LA in early 2008. I simply don’t believe Oasis ran out of “time” to have Liam do vocals for this song and Record Machine. There is a nice lost Liam collection in the vaults consisting of: Come On, It’s Alright Record Machine Stop The Clocks

Then there’s the real ending to Some Might Say which was only revealed due to Rock Band and is far superior to an elongated fade-our. Again, disagree. Giving it the resolution of a true ending robs it of the euphoric power of its ending guitar solo. Stretching out Some Might Say to its true ending makes it less memorable because nothing happens in the song after Noel's last guitar solo, and the traces of that guitar solo's brilliance no longer linger in your brain. Fadeouts serve a purpose my dude. Like anything else they can be poorly executed, but there's a reason they've been since the beginning of recorded music, and across pretty much every genre. It's another artistic choice to make your song better if the song calls for it. Disagree. I enjoy resolution. A fade-out offers none. I always just wonder what the rest of the recording sounded liked and get annoyed that there's no resolution and just an artificial ending. Oh well, to each their own.

Can’t wait to have DOYS in full with those two songs and Liam on vocals, even though it’ll probably b rough vocals. Record machine is fine without Liam but come on outside screams Liam.

haha again the "bond theme" thing. It is like the wet dream of many here, innit? Stop it, there isn´t anything more passé than Bond films. Plus, the song is truly bad. Proper B-side material. And now that I think of it, many here dreamed of freaky teeth being a bond tune and now COO, they are so similar, almost identical songs.

Then you wake up and think let's listen to the proper record and you find out it's actually not a nightmare but indeed the Nature of Reality.

It doesn't make sense that he's kept it for himself to put it on an obscure EP as track three. The plausible theory, is that he left it off DOYS because DOYS already had a song to fill the "lead single upbeat rocker" roll and was keeping it for lead single off the next album. Another theory is that Liams vocal take was rubbish, which is plausible for that time in history. And he never got to re-record them due to his wedding.

Another theory is that Noel has no fucking clue which of his songs deserve to be kept on or off the albums.

DBTT vocal takes aren't exactly glorious but they still made the cut. Even in HC there were some questionable ones. Unless it was incredibly shit, I don't see that being a reason.

Another theory is that Noel has no fucking clue which of his songs deserve to be kept on or off the albums. Well in this particular case he knew. He knew the song was going to be the lead single and he also knew he wanted to punish Liam for leaving sessions in LA without notice. Incredibly spiteful shit. This track should have surfaced earlier in Noel’s solo career however.

I loved the demo version and I love the new version. Oasis has had so so many missed opportunities, all caused by nothing and everything. We've waited for this new (album) version for more than 10 years. I'm glad it's not like Stop The Clocks. Having said that, if this song was included in DOYS, my opinion on this album would have been different. Oasis needed an A&R man (or woman) badly after 1998. Noel made such strange artistic and non commercial choices between 2002 and the breakup in 2009. He knew the second act of Oasis was never gonna be like the first, the band really needed the best men on the pitch. Fuck the "concepts", "democracy" and "grooves". Best songs make the team. Noel's whole reasoning for "Come On, It's Alright" and "Record Machine" not being on DOYS just never sat right for me. Big deal Liam left abruptly to get married back in England. Was it a dick move? Probably but they still were in LA mixing/doing vocals when Liam returned from his wedding. Then they had another 6 months prior to the album dropping. It's such spiteful shit. It didn't hurt Liam it only hurt us fans! 1. He´s still making poorly artistic choices 2. Come on and record machine wouldn´t have made DOYS better, the band lacked direction and purpose. You take high horses for cows? No point at all. 3. Come on is just an easy song, a bastard child of "turn up the sun" and sibling to freaky teeth.

This is cool but there is no way this is a fresh recording. The Sardy credit and the reused elements (the vocals are definitely from the demo, right?) and stylistic decisions makes me think this was def recorded for NGHFB and shelved. Glad it's finally out in any case. In the promo e-mail from the NGHFBs mailing list it quotes Noel referring to it as along the lines of 'something I found down the back of the sofa' which suggests it is an old recording. I'm a little bit disappointed to be honest - would liked to have heard a fresh recording by the current band. I think Back of the sofa means Youtube, Noel found leaked demo. "What the Fuck Who have leaked my cool demo track!??, However, It's a cool song, I didn't remember."

Some Might Say definitely suits a fade-out. That ending euphoria feels like it could go on forever. Much like It's Getting Better (Man!!), which literally does go on forever. Never understood why they didn't end the recording like they did it live. Oh wait, I do: cocaine.
