Maybe this has been done already but whatever. Three Noel-sung, OK songs, placed at the beginning of their respective albums.
I’d personally go for Waiting for the Rapture because, although none of the three songs excite me too much, I really like the very ending of it. Also, FON is out of question for me, purely because of Noel’s voice that certainly is in NO possession of the force of nature.

Mucky Fingers all the way.
But just imagine Liam singing it and see it’s quality increase tenfold.

Mucky Fingers all the way. But just imagine Liam singing it and see it’s quality increase tenfold. That could pretty much be said about 80% of the Noel-sung tunes. Having said that, I can’t imagine Liam singing Mucky Fingers. (Still could be good though)

I like MF just fine, but WFTR is ace - I just started getting into the bonus Noel sung version of it too.
FON can rot in Hell. Thanks.

God, Force of Nature and Mucky Fingers are awful songs. Terrible. And to think that Noel wanted both of them as lead singles for Heathen Chemistry and Don't Believe the Truth.

Hardly awful, Mediocre, sure, but I have a soft spot for FON.

It doesn't really take a detective to find out that I was very directly responding to the person above me. I also don't see how it's "shockingly bad". It's a fully structured rock song with a decent melody and okay lyrics. Mediocre? Sure. Generic? Yep. Bad? Fair enough. Shockingly bad? I don't see it. The fact that you like Evil Flower, a song that isn't even fully structured or finished, but find FON "shockingly bad" is beyond me.

Mucky Fingers all the way. But just imagine Liam singing it and see it’s quality increase tenfold. I wonder if there are recordings somewhere in the vault of Liam having a bash at any of these tunes. I'm not a fan of any of the tunes really, maybe Force Of Nature for all its faults is my favourite. I agree that the acoustic version of Waiting For The Rapture is better than on the record. I never really worked out why Noel did the alternative versions for the Rapture and Turning.

Force of Nature is the second track on an official OASIS studio album. There’s your difference, Squire.

The melody is just fine. The lyrics aren't that bad. It's really an okay little song. It doesn't reinvent the wheel, it's not revolutionary, it's not great, or even good, but it is okay. It's just fine, it's not terrible. Nothing Oasis did was terrible, some bad, some mediocre, but terrible? For a song to be truly terrible it has to do one or more of the following. Have absolutely atrocious lyrics. Abandon hooks. Fail to use basic techniques such as the lyrics rhyming and or flowing together. Actively annoy and or anger the listener. FON does none. It's just a mundane, luke warm, decent little song that does no harm.

Evil Flower has one verse(a bad one at that) and repeats the same bogus phrase over and over again. Evil Flower is also an officially released song off of an official release by a revolutionary singer/songwriter. Just as Force of nature is. Neither are worthy and or live up to his reputation, but it's abundantly clear that FON is the better song. It's an okay song, Evil Flower is pitiful. Squire? Give me a break.

Waiting For The Rapture Alt. Version 2 > Mucky Fingers > Waiting For the Rapture
Then there's Force of Nature.

I don't care for any of these three songs. I used to like Waiting For The Rapture but the melody is really Noel on autopilot. Mucky Fingers could be better with Liam on vocals. Force of Nature is pure dad rock and even Liam couldn't save it.

Never understood the hate for Mucky Fingers. Genuinely baffled by the hate it receives! Good pacing, I like the lyrics, a nice bit of harmonica too. I could really imagine Liam sneering that one out at full pelt.
Force of Nature is just appalling though - Noel in full fog horn mode here.

Mucky Fingers.
Waiting for the Rapture is too short.
