I have a really unpopular opinion. Nobody will agree, and I beg you now not to expel me, but here goes....... I think The Stone Roses' first album is a little overrated. Around half of it is classic brilliance. I Wanna Be Adored, She Bangs The Drums, Waterfall, I Am The Resurrection, possibly Made of Stone and Don't Stop. However, I find several songs in the middle of the album (Bye Bye Badman, Sugar Spun Sister, Elizabeth My Dear, Shoot You Down) to be a bit of a drag, especially as the first three come together. Not bad songs per se, just somewhat weak. It's always given 10/10 in pretty much every review I ever read, and I've seen it make the top five in many British 'best album ever' polls. It's hugely influential without a doubt, and we wouldn't have Oasis without it. But it's not that good. I certainly like it a lot, its at least an 8/10, maybe 8.5. Just not one of the best albums ever made, for me. There I said it. Rip me apart.

Who Built the Moon is better than anything Damon has put out for nearly a decade. Don't know Everyday Robot's is a classic for me. And the last Blur album is a belter. For me Damon get's the nod for the best songwriter for me cause he changed things up. Blur and Gorillaz, get's him the nod. Also I still stand by he wrote half of that Elastica debut album. The Good, The Bad and The Queen are great. Everyday Robot's is a great album. Modern day David Bowie for me, who would have funk the pretty boy britpoper from the mid 90's ends up been the most revered of British Musicians.

Elizabeth My Dear is honestly too short to hate, so I don't know why you're singling that out. It's literally 54 seconds long lol. Bye Bye Badman fits with the album theme so that gets a pass. I've always found Don't Stop to be the problem, so I'd move Sugar Spun Sister to after Waterfall instead and have the rest of the album flow as such.

Arctic Monkeys are vastly overrated.
They have a few good tunes, the rest is just basic indie filler.

A lot of buzz with that band and it was getting so much USA attention. It was exciting. Was kinda disappointed with their sophomore album, didn't dig Humbug. Suck It and See was very straight forward. I probably listen to AM the most. Love the sound and production of that record. Sexy tunes. My fav AM tracks: I Bet You Look Good On The Dance Floor Fake Tales of San Francisco Mardy Bum A Certain Romance 505 Crying Lightning Don't Sit Down 'Cause I've Moved Your Chair Piledriver Waltz That's Where You're Wrong Suck It and See Do I Wanna Know? I Want It All Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High? Knee Socks I Wanna Be Yours Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino Four out of Five

Replace with some of the singles or b-sides and it would merit the rave reviews.

Yeah theres certainly better things not on it like Sally Cinnamon, possibly One Love although i dont find that one a classic. Ive obviously reviewed the original pressing, and newer ones are a bit better as they include Fools Gold which is pretty great IMO. I think with me it didnt help that friends raised my expectations too high. I loved I Am The Resurrection and I Wanna Be Adored, and people had claimed every song is that good. So if id gone in with lower hopes i may have liked it more.

Never seen the appeal in the song, but I wonder why songs like Standing Here or Mersey Paradise weren’t included instead.

Not sure why this song is getting called filler, it's a gorgeous summer tune:

I wouldnt say its on the level of stuff like IWBA, IATR, SBTD, FG, but its just one i can think of that i prefer to the ones i dislike. I’ll admit i really know the B-sides and rarities like those two you said, i havent listened them yet.

Not sure why this song is getting called filler, it's a gorgeous summer tune: I'm with you. It's nice and chill, got some good laidback vibes and jazzy feel to it with the rhythm section. Bye Bye Badman is similar and Sugar Spun Sister is a delightful jangle pop tune. Honestly, Don't Stop is probably the only weak point of the album and even that was quite a feat when you consider when it came out and the fact that they performed it live, even though it's literally Waterfall backwards. Even Elizabeth My Dear is one of those cool gems that "if you know, you know". If I could construct a tracklisting for this album, I'd replace Don't Stop with Going Down, then have everything else the same. It's a classic album for a reason, so there's no need to change a whole lot.

Lennon use to say nobody is going to be in a bar in Spain and want to hear “I Am The Walrus” over “Yesterday”. Yes John. Yes we do!!! Only if it's sung by Liam! (maybe not a highly unpopular opinion on an Oasis forum, but that cover version is much better than the original) Yikes

Well, why not? The Beatles aren't the be all, and end all of popular music. I only like about a dozen Beatles tracks tbh, so I guess im biased. Liam is also a miles better vocalist than your spiritual king, John Lennon.

Rap isn't music and is annoying. Rap or hip-hop in general? Wu-Tang and Beastie Boys are some of the best music I've ever heard in my life. Gen-Z YouTube rappers?...yeah that's annoying garbage.

Let's put it this way, music and maybe even world be so much better without rap. I fucking love some songs and albums but I would sign immediately that all rap music ever recorded disappears and that nobody ever record rap song in future and that we don't even know what rap is.

Saying that the types music you don't like "aren't music" is stupid as fuck. This should not be an unpopular opinion. Sadly this kind of genre elitism is all too common in rock music circles.
